ADR/Mealplan Question

Please forgive me if this sounds silly however we have never in my 4 trips to Disney done reservations or had the meal plan.

When my mother booked our reservations she booked 3 roomsand the meal plan for all of us and was given 3 confirmation numbers. I would like to handle the reservations for All three families (My family, brother and his family, and our parents). Can I make the reservations for everyone? Do I need to make them under everyone's reservation number??? I am just trying to figure out how it works. My thoughts is if I book them all under my reservation then they are not linked to there meal plans.

You can definitely make ressies for the whole group. They dont need your res # except to check that you are within your 180 days to book, but even then you may only need 1.
We had another family traveling with us once and I booked the entire trip for all 10 of us, (even though we had 2 diff. reservations/rooms) using just my confirmation number.
Have a wonderful trip, IMHO once you do dining plan you can never not do it again! Nice to have it paid for and out of way!

OH! and once you get to restaurant you tell them whos under what res. number by giving them your KTTW (room card) and telling them how many go on what card.

It's completely irrelevant UNLESS you want to book one of the prepaid reservations (CRT or one of the 3 dinner shows). If you don't want to pay in full for these at the time of booking, you must have a dining plan on your reservation.
