Hi there...my 180 day mark is coming up next week. I know there is a "mad rush" to book certain things right as dining reservations open up (online and phone).

I'm wondering if one of the restaurants I picked could be at the top of everyone else's list?

We are doing:

Crystal Palace for breakfast
Ohanas for dinner
Chef Mickey's for dinner
Garden Grill for dinner
Mama Melrose for dinner with the Fantasmic package

Are any of these must book first restaurants? I guess I'm just not sure how quickly a really popular restaurant fills up. I'm also not sure if any of the ones on my list are "really popular" LOL

Can someone tell me if any of the ones I picked are "high priority, should book first" restaurants? I'm thinking the Fantasmic dinner package first.

Your help and feedback is appreciated :-)

I would say O'Hana's would be a priority and possibly CP breakfast. I'm sure others will chime in.

I just booked Chef Mickey and Ohana today. I hear that both can be hard to get.

I think it also depends on what times your eating. For example Crystal Palace before 9am is hard because people want to get into the park before it opens for their ADR, while a 10am seating, is a little easier. Garden Grill is sometimes hard too. I wouldn't stress too much about any of them though. If you don't end up getting what you want with the exact times and dates right away, if you keep checking, I'm sure you'll end up with it later on. Good Luck!!

Each one of your restaurants is a pretty "high priority" restaurant. They will all probably be completely booked by the time of your trip, but I think you'll be able to get them if you're booking them at 180 days.

Which one is MOST important to you? I'd make that one first.

Or, since they're all popular, I'd probably make them in the order that you'll be eating. Like, if you want 'Ohana for dinner on your 1st night, I'd make that 1 first. If you want Chef Mickey's for dinner on your 2nd night, I'd make that one next. Your 3rd night restaurant next & so on...

What time are you wanting for Crystal Palace? The 8:05 am CP breakfast goes pretty fast.

I'd probably do the Mama Melrose's Fantasmic Dinner Package last - especially if you're not too concerned w/ what time you get just that you get it.

That said, if you're trying for the 8:05 am CP breakfast, my order would probably be the following:

Crystal Palace
'Ohana
Chef Mickey's
Garden Grill
Mama Melrose's

If you just want breakfast at CP & aren't too concerned about the time, my order would probably be the following:

'Ohana
Chef Mickey's
Garden Grill
Crystal Palace
Mama Melrose's

However, I might also first book the restaurant I want for my first night since that would be your "exactly 180 days out" restaurant & then proceed from there.

This morning, I just booked all the above restaurants & some additional ones, & my order was the following for the "hard to get" ADRs:

Whispering Canyon Cafe (dinner on our 1st night - I wouldn't have put this 1 first; it was just the only one I could book online this morning & I had to call for the others)
CRT (dinner on our 2nd night)
Garden Grill (dinner on our 3rd night - booked before Chef Mickey's & 'Ohana since it's our 3rd night)
Chef Mickey's (breakfast on our 8th morning - I wanted a specific time)
'Ohana (dinner on our 10th night - I wanted a specific time)
Crystal Palace (wanted late brunch/early lunch time)
Mama Melrose's Fantasmic Meal Package (I wanted dinner, but the lunch time was better for us, so I booked a lunch)

And, then I just proceeded in the order that we planned to eat:

Tony's (dinner on 5th night)
Yak & Yeti (dinner on 6th night)
Sci-Fi (lunch on 7th day - I should have booked this one earlier in my "order" - the time I ended up is 30 minutes off from what I wanted)
Rose & Crown (dinner on 8th night)
Rainforest Cafe (dinner on 9th night)
Grand Floridian Cafe (breakfast on 10th morning)

Hope this helps some!!

Yeah I definitely want to do an early breakfast at CP. I believe we are doing Ohana's on the first night. I'm not too fussy about the eating time...I would be fine with anything as long as it's not too late (after 7:30 or 8 ;) )

I believe CP is the second day.

As for Mama Melrose, it sounds like as long as I'm flexible to the time, I should be fine getting the fantasmic dinner package with no problem.

I'll probably go:

CP
Ohana
Chef Mickey
Mama Melrose
Garden Grill

in that order. Good point about trying to get the prime time for CP which is what I'm going for. Thanks for your feedback...really appreciate it!

I think that looks good - if you're not too picky w/ your 'Ohana time.

The only thing that concerns me w/ your 'Ohana ADR is that it's for your 1st night - so everyone who has already booked their 180+10 ADRs in the week before you will cause limited 'Ohana availability, if that makes sense.

I just went to the Disney site to see what was available at 'Ohana for 4 guests on 9/15/2012 (exactly 180 days from today). There was a 5:15 & a 6:40 pm available.

When I checked Crystal Palace for 9/15, there was still an 8:10 am ADR available.

Last year, I booked an 8:05 am Crystal Palace breakfast too, but before I booked it, I booked CRT. Does your Crystal Palace have to be exactly 8:05, or would you be okay w/ 8:10 or 8:15 am?

And I *might* switch Mama Melrose's & Garden Grill.

Garden Grill is sometimes hard to get. Last year, the earliest time I could get was 6:35 pm; this year, however, I was able to get my choice which was 5:30 pm. So, maybe this year w/ the credit card guarantee, it's easier!

I got Ohana's, Crystal Palace, Cinderella, Chef Mickey's, Le Cellier all after my 180 days and I had no trouble except for Ohana I had to do 8pm on the day I wanted I really think the credit card gurantee is helping with reservations

I have all of those except the Mama Melrose dinner for our upcoming trip.

I had 8 ADRs to make and I didn’t want to get thrown off so I set my alarm, let my computer go “to sleep” on the WDW site log in screen, and just booked what I wanted in the order of the schedule I had and got what I wanted no problem.

For me that meant I booked them in the following order:

Garden Grill Dinner (day 2 of our trip)
CP Breakfast (day 3 of our trip)
Ohana Dinner (day 7 of our trip)
Chef Mickey’s Dinner (day 9 of our trip)

That being said, I did not want the 8:05 CP breakfast, I wanted 8:30.
Garden Grill (as I found out on a previous trip) can be difficult, I think maybe because they only serve dinner
I wanted to eat at Ohana by 6, so I booked a 5:15 ADR.

I was also after a couple of other highly coveted restaurants in between (CRT day 4, Akershus breakfast day 5, Tusker House Breakfast day 8, etc.) so after trying to decide which one was going to be the hardest to get, it ended up being in my mind, kind of a wash out. So I just ended up booking them in order cause knowing myself as I do, I'd book one on a date I didn't want and not notice it for months. First trip wanted Tusker House at 8:40, booked 9:40 and didn't notice until 3 weeks out. :lmao: Never could get it changed.

Have fun. Hope you get everything you want.

Honestly, I'm too afraid to book online...seems many can't book their 180 PLUS 10 days from the website? At least that's what I have been reading. I get to work just before 7am EST so I figure, I'll call at 7.

Sounds like as long as I'm flexible, which I am, I should be good to go. Thanks again!
