ADR for party of 6? 8?

My family of six (including 4 children) is planning our trip for Dec. 2007 - we may have two addl adults join us, unsure at this time. How much difficulty will I have booking ADR's for 6? Do most table service restaurants have tables for 6, or will we have to split up to two tables? What about a party of 8? If I make an ADR for 6, could I call later and change it to 8 people, or should I just go ahead and make for 8 even though I'm not sure if they're going?

I would try to make my ADRs for 8 now. There may be a chance you are early enough to get a large table instead of splitting. If your party drops to 6, just tell the CM when you checkin. We do this when we think friends might be joining us. It's much easier to do down a person and near impossible to go up a person.

I would make a table for 8 too...it will be harder to add later. That being said you should have no trouble getting tables for 6. We got table for 5 at all our TS no problem. If you are staying on site and are 8 people I would get a free Grand Gathering Number...that way you can get Grand Gatherings help you with your ADR's.

Definately make your reservations ASAP for 8 . . . and go thru Grand Gatherings. We have a party of 12 (4 families) and JUST made 11 TS reservations. We got the following:

3 tables of 4 (for 2 of our meals)
2 tables of 6 (for 4 of our meals)
1 table of 12 (for 2 of our meals)
and we're doing 2 Grand Gathering Experiences . . . I assume we'll all be seated together?

. . . and I still need to call tomorrow to make our last reservation for 12/19.
