I've got a question. The day we are going to Magic Kingdom right now I have an ADR for 5:40 at Whispering Canyon Cafe. I want to be back in time for the parade at 8 pm. So I am wondering do you think this is a good choice for a couple in their 20's with no kids? Both are kinda picky eaters. Neither like barbeque so probably would just order off the menu. If not where would you go? It can be in the park or at a resort nearby. We are on the dining plan, but want somewhere that is only 1 ts.

Our's ADR's are: Chef Mickey's, Sci Fi, Coral Reef, and Le Cellier.

Places considering:
Crystal Palace
boatwright's
kona cafe
tony's town square

Hi!
We went there for lunch from the MK - be warned, the boat can take forever to get back and forth! It was good, though, we had BBQ ribs that were fantastic. I know you mentioned that you weren't fans of BBQ, you might want to choose some place else (I don't know this for sure, I'm not familiar with their dinner menu). Have you considered Liberty Tree Tavern? It is one of our family's favorites! They have a family style dinner with both ham and turkey and sides that are similar to what you'd have at Thanksgiving dinner.

By the way, you are so lucky to get Le Cellier!

DF and I didn't like WCC so much. We usually go to Concourse, Tony's, or LTT on MK days that we want to see the parade or fireworks. We find it easier. :)

I'd highly recommend Kona Cafe. We enjoyed WCC, but we also had 4 kids, so we enjoyed all the antics of the servers and the ketchup runs and the parade of kids around the dining room. I thought the food was good, but I had the skillet with the bbq and other stuff. The food at Kona is amazing(DW and I always get the hawaiian plate), it's more convenient to MK (quick monorail ride), and it's a quieter atmosphere for 2 adults.

If you want to keep your WCC reservation, just something to remember-even if the boat to the MK takes a while, there is also a boat to the Contemporary from WL and you can walk from CR to MK.I'm just not sure if boats will go to Fort Wilderness first-but it's worth checking into if timing turns into a issue.

We really enjoy WCC, but we love BBQ. Have you looked at their menu for other meals? Check out the menu on www.allearsnet.com.

I would suggest Liberty Tree Tavern at MK. We enjoy the meal there and you wouldn't have to worry about getting back for the parade.

Good luck deciding,

Glenda

Kona Cafe is a Monorail trip away. I think 2 adults would perfer this...especially if you aren't going for the BBQ

Don't overlook the Plaza. We've been twice before and have another pre-Spectro and Wishes ADR for June. We like the food/decor/service and you'll spend less than at CP and Tony's. Then again, on the DDP you prolly would just go OOP and use the TS somewhere else. I don't do the DDP so I didn't think of that.

Disclosure: LOVE WCC.
