I was confused as to when I could book CRT so I want to clarify this for others who may be wondering when to book CRT...

I will be a resort guest Dec. 4-Dec.11 and I had made my other ADRs 190 days out. I was under the impression that CRT needed to be made exactly 180 days out from the date of dining. Today is my 180 day mark to the start of my vacation, and is 185 days from my date for CRT. I called dining reservations and got my ADR made for Dec. 10th! And I am 3 hours past the opening of dining reservations and got it for the time I wanted...8:10!

Yes, my understanding is you can't use the 190 current glitch to book CRT. But you should still be able to book CRT at 180+10 either online or on the phone, which is what you did.

But it is confusing - and I haven't read the whole "glitch" thread in detail, so I could be wrong in my assumption.

Right - CRT doesn't work for 190 days because it verifies the resort ressie for date, but it does work 180 + 10 online.

Yep, your understanding is sound :). There's a lot more detail, but that's the gist of it.

Technically, CRT (and the Dinner Shows) don't work for 190 days because they aren't available on the v2 website (yet). The links for these locations takes you to the v1 website to book.

The v1 website (mid-June09 to mid-May10) has a functional (well, as functional as Disney Web Development gets) validation system. It checks to see a) If the resort confirmation exists, and b) The entered check-in date matches with the resort confirmation number.

The v2 website (mid-May10 to present) does not have this validation turned on. This allows any "confirmation" number to be entered and any date (within 180days) to be selected to open up the extra 10 days.

In a nutshell, yup what you're saying is correct. I just am picky about these sorts of things ;). (Hey, it's my job... speaking of which, I probably should be doing that instead of this... maybe that's why Disney's Web Development team isn't so great... hmm. Things to ponder).

Note: Editing for clarification. The last paragraph almost reads as though I'm a developer for Disney. I assure you I am not. Heck, I'm not even a developer! (Well, my title *is* software engineer, but that's because they haven't changed it over to QA. I also do some light dev work on the "side" (still within my job, but as a side to my main duties).) At anyrate, I don't work for Disney, and if I did, I sure as heck wouldn't be spouting all this stuff about going around the system ;).
