Hello all!

I am sure this is probably posted in here somewhere! Here is my dilemma...DH is very picky. I've planned most of our dinners but I have noticed that most of the buffets have things he would never eat...but the kid's buffet has things that he would eat. Can he eat off of the kids buffet?

Any ADR suggestions for a picky eater?

We have ADRs for LeCellier, Princess Storybook (b-fast), Boma (b-fast) and Ragland Rd,

Yes. He can eat off the kids buffet. It's not a separate buffet, but everyone I've seen is just a lower counter area for kids. He'll have to pay for an adults' buffet, but can eat anything on the buffet he wants. The kids area usually has pizza, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, and other kid friendly meals. Most buffets also have such a wide assortment he should be able to find something else. Crystal Palace is good.

Buffets at WDW have a surprisingly large variety of food. The buffet menus you see online are often an abbreviated version of what's actually offered.

I think it's a shame though that you're going to be spending so much on buffets with DH eating mac & cheese, pizza and chicken nuggets though. Hopefully he can find more on the buffets to eat.

I am an incredibly picky eater. I am slightly more adventurous than my ten year old nephew and have food allergies.
That said, I can only think of three T/S restaurants that I wouldn't eat at.

What does Picky DH like? I am a meat and potatoes eater (allergic to some sea food and spices and don't like rice and most veggies) and I have always found food I like at WDW restaurants.

You have clearly looked at menus, remember, sauces can be left off/put on the side and sometimes, sides can be substituted. And before I get flamed, I ask nicely, don't ask for items not on the menu and tip well!:rotfl:

Some picky opinions ---
I generally don't do buffets but LOVE the breakfast at Boma. Most of it is typical American breakfast.

Raglan Road - a large menu by WDW standards. Like the steak and drunk chicken.

LeCellier - I do the NY Strip minus the veal demi glace

Other restaurants that have appealed to my limited tastes:

Kona - loved the Steak Teriyaki

50s Prime Time - Steak, fried chicken, pot roast, "Mom" didn't even give me a hard time about getting mashed potatoes instead of the root veggie hash.

Artist Point & Spoodles - was able to substitute fries (from the kids menu) for sides that I don't care for/can't eat

Whispering Canyon

Don't deprive yourself of good T/S restaurants because hubby is a picky eating party pooper (and I am allowed to say that) - just see what is on the menu that he will eat (with the sauce on the side and fries from the kids menu).

Here is my dining review from the last trip.

Haha..he won't eat mac and cheese! But he does love steak, chicken, pizza, burgers, chicken fingers! He has gotten a lot better since we've been married. WHen we were dating he'd be happy with McD's 3 times a day! Argh!

Seriously he should be fine. Can I ask what he doesn't like?? Oh and what buffets do you plan on doing? I know someone whose husband won't do anything with cheese except pizza. He also doesn't like cream cheese, sour cream, creamy pasta sauces (alfredo). It's quite funny. I don't know how he survives.

I am thankful that none of us are picky eaters. Granted there are things I just don't like but even my 4 yo will eat things most kids his age won't touch. He loves seafood - especially crab and lobster (goes for the good stuff).

Anyone can eat anything at any buffet. My husband has downed quite a lot of mac and cheese from the Disney buffets (why, I have no idea).

My husband is not "picky" as, like yours, he does enjoy a vast variety of things. But made his way. Forget all the sauces and the extra stuff. No vegetables at all. You should hear him order a salad (no tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, mushrooms, carrots, etc. - basically lettuce, cheese and croutons).

This is what he does all the time (at home, at Disney World). He orders his meat "naked". If the side dish for that meal is not what he likes, he will substitute from the menu any side item listed. If he doesn't see one his likes, he'll ask what else is available. At Disney World, if the restaurant has a kid's menu, they will have fries if nothing else (many have rice).

It takes him a while to order but he gets the meal he wants, the way he wants and finishes everything instead of leaving half go to waste. And in the process, charms just about every female server we have ever had.
