I was wondering if the restaurants are booked completely from ADR and it I go directly to for example chef Mickey's 1 hour before dinner and sign in if i will be able to get a seat?

Last year on our MK day there was a sign that said that no dinner seatings were available at any MK table service or any MK resort table service that day. That was September 15, the day HM reopened. I would think your chances are bad.

There will usually, unless it's a very busy time (summer, new year's, easter, free dining) be some sort of table service available. But, not very often will the popular restaurants take walk-ups, and especially not at a busy time of day.

Better to plan ahead if there are specific places you want.

They do not allocate any space for walk-ups. All spots can be 'reserved.' Popular restaurants such as the ones in the parks and the character meals will have no availability for walk-ups except maybe in very slow times.

Maybe.

We've been turned away and we've gotten seated when told by Guest Services that there was nothing available :confused3 This was June 07, we went to MK and couldn't find anything to eat. We stopped at Guest Services in the park, they looked and told us none of the park restaurants had anything available, and there was nothing at Kona, Ohanas, 1900 Park Fare or WCC. We got on the monorail and decided to stop at GF and see if we could get into 1900 PF, and the CM said it would be a 15 minute wait :confused3 so much for nothing available :rotfl: We were actually seated in 5 minutes and had a great dinner.

If it's a restaurant that you know you're really going to want to eat at, then I say make the ADR. If you change your mind and cancel, so what. If you're willing to take the chance that you may or may not get in, it won't hurt anything to ask. Just be prepared to eat CS somewhere instead.

In October I called from the Beach Club to get an ADR for Cape May Cafe and they told us there was nothing available. I walked down to the lobby and they seated us almost immediately. So this place had walk-ups available when there was no ADR's available, but I would not count on this being the norm.

You can try. But expect to be turned away, and have another alternative ready.
