We have several ADR's for the week between Christmas and New Year's for 4 people. There is now a possibility that there will only be 3 of us. Do I need to call and make that change on my reservation, or is it okay to leave it at 4? Thanks!

Not for 4 going to 3 since it will be a "four-top" you will be seated at anyway. I can't think of anyplace with 3 seated tables.

In 2006, we had ADRs for 6 people, but one day we were only 4, and it was not a problem. I think generally it's not a problem to go from a higher number to lower, like 6 -> 4, but moreso of an issue to go from say, 4 -> 6. I've never had any issues though. I think you'll be okay!

I would not worry one bit about it. There are some restaurants with three tops, but very few.

The only reservations that you may want to consider adjusting are any that have a credit card guarantee on them. You can be assessed the 'no show' fee if you show up with 3, but guaranteed for 4. (Unless that person not showing up is an infant/child under 3)

Thanks to everybody for your help! None of them are tied to a credit card, so that won't be a problem. I really didn't think it would be necessary to change, but I wasn't sure since I've never had this come up before.

This was a last minute trip, and I was really lucky to get the reservations to start with, so I wanted to make sure I "played fair"! ;)

Thanks again!

If you have ADR's between xmas and NY no way in heck I'd even let them get their fingers on them :)

Can you give us some examples of restaurants that have three tops?

Thanks! :goodvibes

Boma and CRT are two that pop into my mind right away. I know that I've read of others, but since I am either a party of 2, 5 or 8, unfortunately I've filed the exact locations of all with 3-tops under "that's interesting" in my brain and moved on, so my retention of where isn't great.

If you wanted to know all/more of the locations of places with 3-tops, you could start your own thread, I know that when others have asked about 3-tops there have been quite a few replies.

Sorry I can't be of more help beyond sharing just the two.

:lmao:

Believe me, I counted myself as being very lucky to get them at the last minute. I actually got Chef Mickey's too but wound up canceling it and switching to the Kona Cafe instead (we'll be all adults, and from what I read, Chef Mickey's was going to be a little loud and hectic ;) - plus, Kona will be a little bit cheaper).
