I wonder if anyone can help me with a question about making ADRs.

I am staying with my wife and daughter at SSR for three weeks in August with the dining plan, my wife's sisters are joining us for two weeks but they are staying at the Hilton at DTD. I am aware that as guests at a Disney hotel we can make ADRs 90 +10 days in advance but can we make reservations for all five of us for the same period even though only three of us are on site guests?

I don't see why not - the reservations will be in your names, correct?

Unless someone has evidence to the contrary, I'd say that yes, you can.

Hi,

Absolutely yes, as long as you have your booking reservation number when you call.

With the dining reservation system coming I would wait and see what happens. They will be asking for room reservation number and other information.

I respectfully disagree. Let's say that you make a ressie for five people, with only two in your room, and Disney bothers to look that up (which I doubt will happen, aside from them confirming that you DO have a room booked for the correct time period). What if the other party members ARE staying onsite? Do you really think that Dining will demand to know their ressie information, as well? Highly doubtful.

Now, I understand that the OP is brining guests who are not staying onsite. I think that the absolutely worst that can happen is that Dining would say (and again, I find this HIGHLY doubtful), "Excuse me, sir... you are making a reservation for five, but I only see two on your room."

The OP then replies, "Yes, thanks, we'll be bringing three guests."

I'll wager they tell him to have a magical day. End of subject.

I just don't see a horrible epidemic of people taking advantage of their onsite buddies' access to the extra window of time to make ADRs that the onsite guest still has to use. I can't imagine this being an issue.

Maybe a helpful CM can chime in?

When I made my ADRs for mid-May I made them for a party of 7 even though 5 are on our reservation (well 3, because two are under 3 years of age). My parents are also staying on property but the CM never asked if this was the case. They just cared that the person making the reservation was on property.

I have a friend who made an on site reservation (he is staying off site) just to book at the 90+10 and he plans on cancelling it after his ADR's are made but before his cancellation window - I am assuming he did room only. What will happen then?

Wow, that was a lot of trouble to go to just for a 10 day jump at an ADR. Where is he so anxious to eat?

In October 2007 my DH and children along with my DS and her family were staying on site. My Mother, Aunt, DS, DBIL and DN all stayed in my mothers timeshare somewhere in Orlando. I was able to make ADR's for all 14 of us with the +10 benefit. It wasn't a problem at all.

That said, I noticed that your staying 3 weeks! That would be a dream come true for me! Enjoy your trip!
