My personal take on a first timers ADR experience

Now Hiring:
WDW Advanced Dining Reservation Specialist.

Qualifications:

1. Most importantly, ADRS must NEVER haven been to, nor affiliated with Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL.

2. Must have the ability to astral project, as well as time travel, to anticipate the culinary needs of Resort guests up to 180 days in advance.

3. Must exhibit psychic ability.

4. Must have at least one full time job, and an active family life resulting in 1 hour of free time per day or less.

5. Must be willing to forgo sleep. Must conform to the school of thought that research is best done after midnight, with one or more family members snoring loudly within 10 feet.

6. Must have an excellent memory and a saint's patience. Must be able to recall the details of at least 50 restaurants at all times including location, menu, and # of DDP credits required to dine. Must know the starting times of all parades and fireworks, to refrain from scheduling dining times during these activities. Must memorize daily EMH schedule to further optimize guest touring.

7. Must know what EMH are.

8. Must be willing to work for hours on a plan, only to discard it and begin from scratch once you realize you have to rearrange days. At least twice.

9. Must be able to sit in front of a computer for hours at a time without going to the rest room, and only moving your right index (mouse) finger.

10. Must be a speed reader. Applicants will be given 3 days to read approx. 1,500 pages of reference material. Tests will be administered.

To Apply: Contact Mickie Cake at XXXXXXX.com. Must submit a COMPLETE ADR plan for a family of 4 (2/2) on the DDDP. 2 reservations/day for 7 days. Must be mostly TS. Lodging at AKL with 7 day MYW w/PH & WPFAM.

If you have no idea what I just said, please feel free to apply. Salary will be paid in Xanex and Advil.

Now that you put it that way....can you pay in Ativan? :lmao: Will the fact that I have planned a Surprise Grand Gathering for 9 people including making ADRs for places that would please all 9 of us get me a Bonus? Health benefits? :goodvibes

I would like to apply for this position. Can I be paid in Disney Dollars? I don't meet all of your qualifications, however, I'm close to some.

1. I've only been to WDW once.
2. I can't personally time travel, but I do watch Journeyman every week and was a huge fan of Quantum Leap, so I understand the basic concepts.
3. I exhibit psychotic abilities frequently.:rotfl2:
4. I teach 6th grade, grade papers during my free moments at home, but have been confined to the couch for the last three weeks due to a knee dislocation. I will have surgery Monday and will become very close with the couch for an extended period of time, I'm sure. My laptop is my friend.
5. I had to get rid of the snorer many years ago after I threatened to smother him with a pillow.
6. Excellent memory. I can recall 130 6th graders names and usually only call at least 5 by someone else's name daily. I can remember the names of students at the drop of a hat that I taught 5 years ago when I hear them calling me in Wal-Mart. AND, get this, I can remember all of my DD11's teachers names from kindergarten until present 6th grade. :woohoo:
7. I understand the concept of EMH even if aforementioned DD11 would never get the ball going before Morning EMH and I began tuckering out early in to evening EMH. It's tricky, when you have a morning person, me, and a night-owl, DD11, on vacation together.
8. Been there, done that. Currently making a spreadsheet that includes 3 days before and 3 days after my intended next WDW vacation. Having summers off is wonderful in flexibility.
9. See #4. :rolleyes1
10. With current No Child Left Behind, I have become proficient at reading tons of material with little or no meaning and storing it in my memory for future retrieval at the appropriate time.

If I can't be paid in Disney Dollars, can I be paid in cake? :upsidedow
Can you imagine how silly I'm going to be after they give me good drugs next week?

:rotfl2::rotfl2: I was slightly tempted by the thoufht of DDDP. but now I know that I need to stay away from that: at least two ADRs to schedule per day!!! :scared1:

I laughed out loud this morning read this post..

Thanks for the humor.....back to my moderating. :)

To be honest......I am PERFECTLY qualified for this position.

As a former CRO and WDTC cast member.....I DID THIS EXACT JOB FOR 2 1/2 YEARS !!! In fact, I still do it for every family member's trips......I have spreadsheets and everything.

My father keeps telling me I should become a travel agent specializing in DISNEY.

So, if you need help or anything......send me a PM

(Disclaimer) I leave for WDW in 23days, AND am working 10+ hours of overtime weekly until I leave, so I hope your trip is for 2008 :rolleyes1

Dear Lynninpa,

It appears that you are grossly overqualified for the position of ADRS. Unfortunatly, the only health benefits being offered by Disney at this time can be found in the First Aid station of any Disney theme park. Please feel free to avail yourself of these benefits at any time (with park admission, of course).Thank you for your application. :rotfl2:

Dear Somday,
Thank you for your application for the position of ADRS at WDW. You seem fairly well qualified for the position, but we ask that you reapply in person once you have been given drugs. At that point we will allow you to man phones at WDW-DINE.

I hope it's worth it!! :sad2:

Dear Moderator,
No humor was intended in our ad for an ADRS. Slip up like that again and you will be removed from the Board. :lmao:

Dear Pirate,
While you are grossly overqualified for the position of ADRS, this humble secretary appreciates your offer and may avail herself of it after your impending doom.. uh, vacation. :thumbsup2
