I am just looking for some helpful tips or someone to share their experience while dining at Chef Mickeys for dinner. I would like to take my family there for dinner while the fireworks are at Magic Kingdom. So let me know some good viewing places from the restaurant or any other ways to go about viewing the fireworks while there at Chef Mickey's.

 We're going to Disney - We're going to Disney:banana:

You can't see the fireworks from Chef Mickey's. You can walk out onto the balcony at the north end of the concourse (4th floor, same as Chef Mickey's) to watch the fireworks, but you would have to do this after your meal as the balcony is at the opposite end of the resort from the restaurant.

I celebrated my b-day there, it was a good choice because we took our 2 little nieces that have never been before and it was right on the way to MNSSHP.

The character interaction was fantastic, the food was terrible. I mean wilted salad, hard as rock rolls, dried out pizza, just nasty stuff....even the kids were miserable.

We are going to try breakfast in Jan, hopefully that will be better

Have been to Chef Mickey's numerous times for dinner and have always found their food to be very good and excelent in comparison to most any buffet. However, I don't usuall eat rolls and pizza at a buffet :rolleyes1

That was just some of the items that were gross....would you like me to list all the items that stunk? :rolleyes1

We had the same experience the last time we did dinner at Chef Mickey's: salad was gross, rolls not good, meat was dry, potatos were runny. We only do breakfast now.

You are going to get a bunch of different responses-some love it and some hate it. We happen to love it.
Ask to sit in the main area not the side area where the buffet lines are-same characters but a little more festive (and loud!). We had a late ADR at 8:20-ish and it was great. They brought out fresh food, they kept up with the cleaning, our server was attentive and the characters were very playful.
Also another hint-when you pose for the picture as you enter the restaurant have the photographer take the same pose with your own camera. Then you don't have to buy the picture unless you want the pretty frame and all.
Then walk acrosss the 4th floor to see the fireworks out of a small balcony (small).

We absolutely loved our meal there in May!! If you would like to see some pictures there are some in my food report (link in signature)
