ADR check-in procedure for split-up parties?

My DS and I will be travelling with 3 other family members who will be doing their own thing in the parks some of the time. For some TS meals we may be meeting up at at a restaurant. I will give them copies of the ADR places/times/numbers.

Here's my question: If one party arrives first and their turn to be seated comes up before the other party arrives, what's the recommended check-in procedure for the later party? Do they just wait in the ADR lineup and give the name the reservation is in? I'm wondering if it works from a cross-off type of list where the reserver's name is still visible and shown as having been seated, or whether, once "someone" has arrived, the ADR disappears from the system. :confused3

Can anyone advise me on how this would be handled? Or is it just best to not join the ADR line-up until all parties and present and accounted for? TIA!

My experience has been that they won't seat you until your entire party is there.

I have found they will not seat you until all arrive. Alfredo's was down right hostile about this ..
