ADR Cancellations-Is this right?

We are traveling with another family and I wanted to book 2 tables of 4 instead of 8 because I was worried that if one family had to cancel that the other family could possibly lose the ressies by bumping it down to 4 from 8. Anyway, the CM that I spoke to said that with the new system that it isn't true anymore and that if we have to reduce our current ressies of 8 to 4 that it won't be a problem at all. She actually said the way the system is set up it would be very difficult to book 2 tables of 4. Anyone know?

When I've called for client dining ressies on the new system I was told that they can't even see the table size or configuration. Not sure how true this is, but I was told by different CMs.
