This is our first time visiting DL and our dining window opened today. With WDW, you can usually book for the duration of your trip starting on the first day, but I'm only able to see times for the first day (60) when I search for DL. My hotel is linked in my account, so that's not the issue. Do we have to check each morning or is something not connecting right with our reservation?

DL is different, you must check everyday during the duration of your trip if you want to book ADR’s.

Thanks guys! Well the bad news we couldn't snag a Trader Sam's but the good news is I'll have 3 more chances and won't be at work (EST) those other 3 days.

Trader Sam is very difficult to get. Make sure you are on the app and ready to go just before 6am. Keep refreshing and click fast when it appears. It books fast because it is a very small location with a bar and maybe 8 tables.

How many are in your party? If it's more than 4, try making 2 separate reservations. You may need to have 2 of you trying at the same time (like one books a party of 4 and one a party of 2 or some such combo). Trader Sam's has very limited seating for more than 4 in a party.

I heard that people snag Trader Sam’s earlier (as early as 3am pst). I would check often and early. Good luck!
Thanks, yes we did logon at 5:59 EST because we'd heard the same thing. Kept checking on the hour just in case, but the date was greyed out until 6am PST.

Oh thanks! We are 5 and shooting for earlier times since we have under 21s with us. Maybe we'll try 2 parties tomorrow. DH did snag a res for 1, so maybe we can also put an alert out for a 4 top that same time and cross our fingers there's a cancelation.

A party of 1 is most likely going to be seated at the bar. I know I was when I went in May, as a party of 1.

Last year I went with 3 girlfriends. I asked the 3 cast members at the hostess stand how I could get a reservation for a party of 5 (for my family for a later date). They honestly didn't know. They basically told me it was impossible without two reservations. I trialed it a few times and never saw options for more than 4 people. You could try two reservations but know that you may not be able to sit near each other.

It's very hard to get a booking for a party of 5 (I'm not sure they even exist), but it is possible, as I've done it more than once, to get in with 2 parties and sit adjacent. You may have to wait longer to stay together or they may add a 5th chair at a table depending on the table location etc. It's a small space so the options for larger parties are very limited inside.

There are larger tables with more space in the outdoor area. There's often a band playing island-style music and it's very nice with the tiki torches etc. But, of course, you'd miss the fun of the special effects, bartender tricks and the whimsical vibe that's inside.

Trader Sam's waitlist is awesome. We always just do that when we want to go and have waited no more than an hour.
I think this may be our best bet. We have no other plans for our arrival day, so we could just sit on the patio and wait.
