We will be staying at the Pop from 10/23-10/30. Arriving at approx. 1pm on 10/23 and leaving early 8am on 10/30.

This is my plan for dining/touring based on crowd calendars, etc.

10/23- no park, ADR Chef Mickeys for dinner
10/24- Hollywood Studios, Hollywood & Vine for lunch-OOP
10/25- Animal Kingdom, no ADR, MNSSHP
10/26- Magic Kingdom, Cinderellas Royal Table for lunch
10/27- Resort/rest day, HDD for 5pm show
10/28- Epcot, Akershus for lunch
10/29- Magic Kingdom, Crystal Palace for dinner

One major concern that I have: Cinderella's Royal Table, possibly closed at that time? Read that when Be Our Guest opens up that Cindy's will close down for updates. So, my concern is that I make ADR for Cindy's it ends up being closed? What happens then? I'm just out of luck? I'm guessing that they won't know 180 days out that Be Our Guest will be open?

Thank you for your advice and feedback!

Are you on the dining plan? I ask b/c you say H&V out of pocket, but it looks to me that you are using 7 TS credits, but you are only staying 6 nights.

We haven't done any of the dinner shows, but all of the other ADRs and the plan overall looks good to me.

I've listed my calculations below regarding TS usage.

It also looks like you aren't going to MK until Day3. Not sure how many previous trips you've done, but I'm guessing from your ADR's that you are taking at least 1 young child. I don't think my DD would make it until Day 3 without seeing the castle and riding Dumbo. To her, you aren't at WDW until you enter the MK. You might have time to go into MK either before or after your Chef Mickey ADR on the first day just to soak up a little Disney Magic and catch a ride on the carousel or It's a Small World and have your picture made in front of the castle.

Yes, we will have the Dining plan. And, yes, there are 3 children 2, 6 & 7. We will be there for 7 nights, so only one ADR (I picked Hollywood & Vine because it was the cheapest) will be OOP. A friend suggested going to MK on Day 1 too before/after Chef Mickey's. So, that may be the way to go. Thank you!!

Okay, so I apparently can count TS credits, but can't count how many nights you are staying. :teacher:

I do think the children and the adults would enjoy a little disney magic the first night. Don't overdo it on a travel day, but if you go in just to enjoy the sights, the sounds, the smells and see the castle I think it would be worth it.

Great! I think Chef Mickey's on 1st night with a quick visit to MK is a go then! Because of MNSSHP predicted to be on 10/23 (our arriving day) and MK closing at 7pm, I am thinking to bump Chef Mickey's out to 6pm and go to MK around 4 or so. That should give us 1 1/2 or so to explore before catching the monorail to Chef Mickey's. Planning approx. 1 hour for the buffet, should put us back to the Pop by 8pm. That seems reasonable for a 1st night. Straight to bed kids! I'm guessing that is going to next to impossible :)

Thank you !!

Don't know what time AK closes & MNNSHP starts, but I suggest having the Chef Mickey meal before going into MK that night. With the $10/person cancelation policy, if there's any chance your flight or arrival would be delayed it could be an issue with your Chef Mickey ressie on arrival day.

ANother suggestion would be to do Chef Mickey your HDD night IF the refurbishment scheduled to start 8/5 for HDD causes it to not be available when you go in Oct. I called Disney Dining this week for August dates & was told by CM that they are not booking HDD for 8/5 to end of year due to refurbishements. That seemed like a long time so maybe it will be available by the time Oct rolls around, just for sure not in Aug/Sept :confused3

Hmm, if HDD is closed that is definitely going to throw another kink in the plans. After talking to my TA, I'm thinking about holding off on making a ressie at Cindy's because of the possible closure due to the opening of Be Our Guest. She said that we should know 90 days out from the scheduled opening of Be Our Guest. So, if we did wait, that would still give me 90 days to make a ressie for Cindy's if it isn't closed. Thanks!

If it were me, I'd go ahead & make the CRT ADR. If they go dark for refurbishment, you can switch to something else then. If not, you have the date & time you want for CRT. If they anticipate it being down in your time frame, they won't make ADRs at all. At this time, HDDR isn't open for booking from 8/5 through the end of Dec. If they plan to close CRT, they'll stop taking ADRs there as well. They have been know to close restaurants that have booked ADRs, but that doesn't happen often. I'm sure it generates more backlash than they want to deal with, if they can prevent it. You do need to come up with a replacement for HDD, just in case it doesn't open early.

As far as going to the parks, I'm of the opposite opinion as some of the others. If you go to MK first, the kids may not want to leave to go to CM. Also, if MK is their first park, they may not be as thrilled by the others. I actually think your original plan was a better one. When we have guests visit to go to WDW, I always recommend they go to the other parks before MK. In my way of thinking, it's better to build up to the best than to have a letdown after experiencing the best first. FWIW, I actually think Epcot is the best park, but I'm a long way past 2, 6, & 7. ;)
