ADR 180 + 10 Rule Confusion...

For some reason I just got seriously confused by a CM on the phone when calling to make my ADRs. Tell me if I am just completely nuts and have no clue what I;m talking about or not....

Out trip is on Jan 29th, making our 180 days August 2nd. With the plus 10 days to make the ressies I could have made them any time this week, right? Or have I completely messed up the whole +10 thing??

Why is it I always feel like I know more than the CM when I call for things? Thanks to the DIS for that I think!

You can make 10 days worth of ADR's 180 days out. Meaning on 8/2 you can call and make ADR's for 1/29-2/7.

I got confused myself last trip. One thing I did find out was that only a certain amount of ADR's are open for the +10 days. I called 180 days out and was trying to get an ADR for CRT on day 3 of my trip(182 days from day I called) and was told it was booked. I called around 7am and could not understand how until they told me they only open a few for the +10 days, try calling back at 180 days from the day I want the ADR.

I called back 2 days later and had my pick of times.

Just something to remember if you do not get the times you want the 1st call.

Places could already be booked when you call even at your 180 day mark for another reason. Say you want a certain place on the FIRST day of your trip. Well, that first day of your trip is also the last day for other families who were able to call a week before you were able to call. Hmmmm, does that make sense? Sometimes my thoughts sound clearer in my head than they do in print.

The CM is correct on this one.

It is not 190 days from the start of your trip. It is 180 days from the start of your trip with the ability to make ADRs for 10 days from that point.

Tues Jan 29-Dinner Ohana
Wed: Dinner WCC
Thurs:Free day-use CS
Fri: Dinner CP
Sat: Dinner Boma
Sun: Lunch Akershus

The 2nd part of the trip is fro DH & My 3rd Anniversary...
Mon Feb 4 (our Anniv): Dinner Narcoose's
Tues: Dinner Cape May Clam Bake
Wed: Dinner Spirit Of Aloha (late show, OOP)
Thurs: Lunch Chef's De France
Fri: Breakfast Ohana

That is what I thought too and mentioned that to the CM. I thought it would be extremely difficult to get anything the 1st day or two of your trip. The CM explained that is why they only open a few ADR's for the +10 days. This way it gives everyone a chance to get an ADR.

Maybe the CM was wrong but that is how she explained it and when I called 180 days from the day I wanted I had my pick of times (unless of course numerous people canceled their ADR's in that time frame).

Either way keep trying you never know what you are going to get.
