Admit to your stupid pet peeves!

Alright folks, we all have pet peeves. Some valid, some puzzling, some just down right stupid. So let's admit them!

Strange topic, I know, but I'm honestly curious.

My own is pretty darn dumb and a total waste of energy but it still drives me absolutely insane nonetheless. I always notice that when faced with a bank of doors, whether in an office building, terminal, shopping mall, etc..., if someone uses just one door, everyone else follows the first person. It drives me nuts to see dozens of people waiting to use one door when there are two, three, four, five, SIX, SEVEN or more waiting to be opened!

It never fails to make me wonder why. And I always mutter "friggin' LEMMINGS" as I yank an unused door open.

Stupid, yes. So let's hear yours!

People who come up to my cube at work (a whole different thread, and pet peeve) and ask;

"Are you busy?"

Me: "Nahhh, they pay me to sit here and file my nails" Of course I'm busy you nimrod, what do you WANT?"

Okay, when you are leaving, let's say, the grocery store. You walk to your car and are putting away 10 bags of groceries. The whole time you have some lazy schmoe sitting in their car waiting for you to finish so that they can have your space! I'm mean, there will be a bunch of open spaces five spots down. But nooooooo, make me feel pressured and get me into a huff... Oh, I get angry just thinking about it.

Mine is driving related. I can't stand people that drive down the road with their turn signals on. How can they not hear the ticking of the signal or not see the blinking on their dashboards? Grrr....

Drives me crazy when people at work (another cube maze!!) are clipping their nails or filing their nails at their desks. Can't you take care of these things at HOME?? Keep your clippings and filings to yourself, would ya???!! A quick nail repair is one thing, but ALL 10????

In the grocery store when people have more than 10 items in the express lanes.That bugs me to no end along with coupons and not having the check wrote out,and please have excat change

Great topic! I have so many, which to choose?.....

I can't stand when people take a left hand turn from way over on the right side so nobody can get by. Also, people who tailgate you when you're stuck behind a whole line of traffic. Like, where would you like me to go? I know you're frustrated, we ALL are!

Also, when people say "I seen". As in, "I seen those slow drivers in the high speed lane". Like fingernails on a blackboard....

By the way Rick, I've been lurking on the Trip Reports board and wanted to wish you the best of luck on your upcoming adventures. It sounds awesome!

This drives me crazy, too!!!! It makes me move slower, though. I refuse to be rushed. I will put one bag in at time, I'll adjust both my kids car seats, anything to take a little extra time.

Speaking of the grocery store....Why do people leave their cart in the middle of an aisle & walk away??? Why, why, why??? Do they think no one is going to venture down their aisle. At least move it to the side so I can get through. Some day I'm going to take a running start & ram the stray cart. No I won't, but I'd like to.

I think that most people out there tick me off. I really try to be patient and courteous, but I think lack of courtesy about covers most of my pet peeves. People just don't care or they have their heads in their a****. One specific thing that bugs me right now is people who don't know me or my baby and walk up and grab her little hand. I know she's cute, she's the cutest darn thing in the world ! Don't touch her, you're covered in germs as far as I'm concerned.

But here are my biggest pet peeves of all time - Don and Nancy! BIL and SIL, I won't go into details because I could be here all day and you don't even know who there are, and believe me you don't want to, but I must say thank you because it feels so good just to say it out loud!

We live in a neighborhood with sidewalks on both sides of the street. However, countless people choose to walk in the street rather that use the sidewalks. What's up with that?

I'm with you there llebrekniT. Also, when parents let their kids who are coughing & sniffing grab my baby's hand, or put their snotty faces in her face. Like you, I realize my baby is quite possibly the cutest thing they have ever seen , but this is no excuse.

I can't stand the driver who gets into the lane that is going to end in half a mile just to get past 6 cars. You do know Sir/Ma'am that you have just caused the rest of us to have to slow down so that you can merge a half a mile ahead of us.


I also can't stand when someone stands too close to you in line! I don't usually have huge personal space issues, for some reason standing in lines I do though.

OMG!!! You read my mind, Rick! I was in the bathroom today when my pet peeve happened and I was just coming back here to start this same dang thread!!

Anyway, what I hate is when you are in a bathroom, there are 10 other stalls, and someone comes in and uses the one RIGHT NEXT TO YOU!!! I don't know why that bugs me, but it does.

Oh - and I will say, my other pet peeve is my BIL and his g/f. Nuff said. Would get too long. Let's just say RUDE, INSENSITIVE, OVER BEARING, THINK THEY KNOW IT ALL, MAKES ME WANT TO PUNCH THEM BOTH IN THE THROAT....

LOL! I was telling a story to my SIL the other day about "something I heard on a chat board I frequent". She wanted to know the website. I wouldn't tell her Holy cow! I'd be in so much trouble with my relatives if they could read what I've written here. I really try to avoid religion and politics with my in-laws.
