Hi....We are looking at the Newport Bay for our next possible stay :cool1:

Is the Admirals Floor worth the extra pennies? What extras do you get? ( I did read a report, but it was dated 2006, just wondered if it wouldve changed much in that time)

Many thanks :goodvibes

As far as I'm aware, you just get a separate check in desk and also tea and coffee facilities in your room.

If that was my trippy I'm afraid we were one of the last people to report anything special really about the Ad. Floor - sorry.
I know the VIP breakfast ended just after our visit and the VIP fastpasses disappeared just before our stay. We had Belgian chocolates in the room and cuddly toys on the childrens beds on arrival, fresh flowers throughout the stay, fluffy bathrobes, choc. coins on the bed each night, free tea and coffee. The consierge service was fabulous, the phonecall from reception checking that everything was OK in the room, the effort they made with the balloons for my son's birthday, it was more than I'd expected.
At the time I loved it, we'd only previously stayed in the budget hotels, so it was like "Wow". If all these things are gone now, I don't know if it would be worth the extra money. :confused3
Although if the option to have the VIP breakfast was made available again I'd definately go for it. :)

We stayed on the Admirals Floor in December. I paid the extra just for the fact that we didn't have to walk around a vast hotel for our room. It's in the centre of the hotel and after 14hours walking/standing around the parks, I didn't want to spend 15/20mins walking from hotel entrance to my room.

No coffee/tea making facilities in the room, you have to phone down to the concierge to get a kettle sent to the room. No fluffy bathrobes either. Rooms cleaned, towels changed every day we were there.

Check-in was much faster too. There was a large queue at the normal check-in desk and only 2 in front of me at the Admirals check-in

With the 50% AP discount, Admiral Floor was only 5p different for the dates I wanted in March. Otherwise I wouldn't bother I don't think.

Thanks..... aaww what a shame they dont all those lovely things anymore, sounded great!

What was breakfast like, is it a scrum? I have read quite a lot of reports that it is, eek!

Think those things now you'd only get with a suite - we had all the above (except the soft toys) when we were in a NPB suite and also at HTNY - instead of the toy we've had a silver photo frame one time, a mug and bowl set another and a photo album the third time. Perhaps because there were no kids on the booking although a toy would have suited me just fine :rotfl2:
