If you travel enough, the travel cards are definitely worth it. So both our cards are linked between me, DH and in laws. We do have to pay the AUs fees on top of the annual fee but it's okay, I did the math and it's still worth it for the 4 of us.
We are Delta loyalists! We won't fly any other airlines unless we have to. We flew Alaska for the first time in like 5 yrs and guess what....3 hours delayed!! I only bought that flight because it was a better schedule than Delta and it was the same price, short 2 hr flight I figured no biggie. Well I was enraged when I watched the Delta flight that I didn't book 2 gates away from us and left BEFORE US!! ugh!

Anyhooo...back to CC topic...I'm racking up all my points mostly for international biz/first class. In 2020, I booked a biz class Air France flight and it was only 56k miles!!! Then of course we all know what happened....so now I still have 112K miles sitting in Air France. My goal is actually to do a Round-The-World (RTW) trip with miles/points, all biz class!! It can be done but requires LOTSSSS of research, planning and most importantly LUCK with availability for each leg. If I can achieve that some day...I would be over the moon!!!

Ok not to go allll the way back to this topic but I am also hoarding points for international biz/first! HOWEVER, sometimes you can get really good domestic redemptions on American Airlines when you book via British Airways, so if I see one of those I might snag it. (Especially if it's on a 777 or 787 with lie-flat biz on a domestic route!!)

I lurk on Flyertalk sometimes and they have some very active RTW threads, I think a lot of people use ANA to do it. I would love to try ANA one way and JAL the other for a Japan trip, in biz or... even better... first

You can use an iPad as an e reader. I check out books from my library digitally. For free. No money goes into the Amazon ecosystem as far as I know.

I use my phone too when I’m out and about because all the kindles & apps will sync to each other on the same account. There’s a huge difference though reading with a dedicated reading kindle and an iPad/kindle fire and it’s the glare free screen. It cuts down on eye strain if you read for long periods and you can read anywhere in the dark to bright sunlight with a quick setting adjustment.

Yeah that's my thing with my phone, the eye strain is so noticeable. So a dedicated ereader would be nice for that!

No doubt. I only do so to books I own. I also get annoyed at borrowed books that have been highlighted.

We just had an interesting run in with a fellow MK guest who got up in my husband’s face about getting too close to him while walking by. he was cursing and calling him names and insulted his cargo shorts . The dude was clearly hangry and the lady with him was yelling at him too to cut it out. I said to him this is not how people act at a family theme park and we all walked away. He proceeded to still yell at us as we walked away. All I was thinking was I don’t want to be featured on the Disney blogs for fighting in the parks.

Yikes . My biggest concern is that I have a bit of a um .... sailor-like vocabulary at times ... and have been known to whisper things to myself like "It's so $@%! good" to myself while crying at, say, Happily Ever After. You know, very normal, well-adjusted adult things. But also language to be mindful of around families, oops.

Please don’t ever say that aloud in the U.K.!

Clearly this guy hasn't found the usefulness of cargo shorts...okay yeah sure they aren't fashionable but great for shoving things into it I def. have loved it when my husband worn them to the parks and I wore some on our 2017 trip..yup I sure did.. it they were handy. I was a bit more fashionable in 2022 though

In my day-to-day life I enjoy and appreciate fashion and style. In my theme park fan life it's so difficult. It's nearly impossible to be fashionable in the climate of central Florida during park touring days, so I just lean into the utility of it all, maybe with a dash of campy fun "I'll never wear this outside the parks" attire.

I will say I just got some exercise dresses, and the ONE pocket on the shorts was very exciting, so I can definitely see the appeal of cargo shorts.

I mean, if you can't embrace cargo shorts and crocs at Disney, where can you?

A matte screen protector works well for me. I have the first iPad mini, which is way too old to use as a functional iPad, but since I can still load books on it, it’s worked out well for an e-reader. Putting a matte screen protector on it was a game changer. My biggest problem is that it doesn’t have nearly as much memory as more modern devices, so I have to keep a close eye on how full it is all the time. I have the same books on my iPad Pro, and they are just a drop in the bucket as far as memory.

Did you see the pez outlaw one on Netflix? That was a crazy interesting one. I too love documentaries and what my husband refers to as murder shows after the SNL skit.

You are doing such a nice job with the frosting! There are a lot of photos of really disturbing lamb cake fails on the internet. It’s a project that takes some patience.

Personally, I love Guinness and one of my favorite go-to's mostly in cooler months of the year which in Chicago (born and raised) was a lot more than Atlanta (where I currently live)

It's also my go to especially when it's the only darker beer, I'll drink it even when it's not cooler as it's not as heavy as some other darker beers.

I think it is brewed under licence around the world, so it probably does have differing tastes, purely because of the water used.

That made me think of our honeymoon in St. Lucia. They had/have a Coca-Cola bottling there and you can taste a difference or at least I did. I mainly drank the Sprite though.

Thank you ... I am no celebrity pastry chef, but enjoy "helping" - frosting was a little cold when I started - so had to recover a bit.

This is so true! No one, however, would ever accuse me of being fashionable in my everyday life, but in the Disney parks it's all about utility. I request that my DH wears his cargo shorts so that I don't have to carry as much in my fanny pack. I used to use a mini-backpack but since I developed lymphedema in my left arm (cancer....the gift that keeps on giving ) I can't wear anything that is restrictive/irritating on my shoulder. I would never wear a fanny pack with a disney shirt while also sporting tevas in my regular life, it's basically a uniform at WDW. I am always perplexed and super envious of those women dressed so cute with the perfect summer dress wearing cute espadrille wedges and an adorable Disney bag all looking like they have never perspired a drip in their life. Did they actually walk into the park like that or is there some supertram that I don't know about that dropped them here? How do they look so cool and put together when the rest of us are sweating like pigs? If anyone here is this person or knows the secret, please do share!!!!

Absolutely! I've also embraced skorts wore some of those last year in Disney not as utilitarian as cargo shorts but the pockets on the ones that have them that I wore were great for holding things at least for a bit. We also had a park backpack (a packable one from Eddie Bauer).

I think you scored big at least getting a pocket in those exercise dresses but they could have given you two!

Our cat's name is Apollo Orion Mickelson sooo sorta a human name I mean there are people with Apollo in their name. Our pet names though for the cat aren't DIS friendly

I wear a very fashionable farrow wrap now, and generally don’t wear dresses unless required. At home I’ve never had anyone say anything but my best friend and I were on a cruise and a woman actually looked at my leg, and said I should cover it.

I’m dreading going to the parks in September as I’m thinking I’m likely going to need to wear either shorts or a skirt as it will be so hot.

SO our cat (sorta ours--well, he originally belonged to a neighbor down the road but he decided he liked us better) was named Jasper by his original owner. We started calling him Mittens--although he is an all black cat which makes no sense I know--and he really responds to it. Most of the time we just shorten it to Mitty.

My dog's name is Sophie, which is not very original as it's in the top 20 most popular dog names in the US lol. I like when pets have "people" names. My neighbor has a cat named Bob and though I'm not a cat person, Bob LOVES me for whatever reason.
