Adjusting dinner reservations at the Castle?

Hi everyone!
We're planning to surprise my mom with a birthday dinner at the Castle while there to watch my son's high school band march down Main Street next week!
I made my reservations for six people ages ago and prepaid them. But now my son would like his new girlfriend to join us. I called to adjust my reservations and they said everything was completely full.
We've never eaten at the Castle before. What are our chances of showing up with an extra person and squeezing her in? I'll keep calling, but in case nothing "official" opens up, do you think they would accomodate us?

Thanks for your opinions/advice/experience!

I don't know about at CRT, but they were able to at Alfredo's in Epcot. But CRT is a price fix menu and pay ahead, so I really don't know. Sorry... :confused3

I would try to get a ressie for 1. Usually when they seat you the tables are in the same area. Good Luck :cheer2:

Say you were sure you said 7 people when you made the ressie when you go to check in.

1) People try this ALL THE TIME.
2) The extra person is politely asked to leave.
3) Trust me, CRT people have heard all the excuses!
. . . I know I made the ressie, couldn't you just find us a table
. . . I know the ressie is in there, I just forgot to bring it with me
. . . I know I made it for ten people and not four, could you find a table
. . . I know the charge is on my credit card, can you just find us a table
4) If you go without a ressie, it will get embarrassing.

Going from a party of 5 to a party of 6 isn't a big deal, you don't need a bigger table or an additional table.

Going from 6 to 7 generally requires a bigger table. CRT is generally a full restaurant. Previous poster is correct, they've heard all the stories. Kind of like the dog eating your homework.

Stop by CRT as soon as you enter the MK. Tell them the truth and see if they can work with you. Decide what your back up plans are. A backup reservation for 7 in one of the MK resorts. Try to make a reservation for 2 at CRT and then change your table from 7 to 6.

Just be sure and check the cancellation process/fee. CRT is one that takes your card number and I believe you are penalized if you cancel. Just FYI - this did not happen to me. I hope you get to go. We loved CRT but it is very very crowded and tight - not that I didn't feel private where we were seated but just when I think back on it.

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

I didn't want to get into an embarrassing situation by trying to force our hand: this is more of a "would like to" situation instead of a "we HAVE to" situation. My little drummer boy has a crush on the color guard captain. Who knew? ;)

Anyway, I will take the suggestion above to stop by CRT when we first get there and just ask. It can't hurt, right? I just wasn't sure how the tables were set and if it was a big deal to go from 6 to 7 (i.e. rebooking an additional table). Keep your fingers crossed for my boy!

Thanks for your help AND if you're in the Magic Kingdom for the 3 p.m. parade Nov. 10 make sure you cheer for my boy in the drumline! :thumbsup2

Cindy
