Adjustable waist pants for kids.

I was thrilled to see that The Children's Place started carrying these. I love their jeans! And, the 2/28 is not a sale. That is their normal price unless something changed very recently. I worked there for three years, and they were always that price for Big girl/boy. Baby girl/boy jeans are 2/20.

I bought these for DD5 last year from JC Penney's. They work great with her because she has no waist or bum for that matter. She needed the length but the waist being adjusted tight enough the pants seemed to fall down just enough to show the top of her panties. She complained about her black pair (her favorite) hurting her from the strap and button.

Maybe I'll try them from another store and see how they work. It is a great idea, I'm not into having my almost 6 yo trying to get a belt off and on at school so her pants don't fall down on her.

What pray tell is wrong with the Gap or Old Navy?

Thanks for the heads up, JJ! I've got one of each -- a boy who is stocky and carries his weight in his waist, and another who is tall and skinny, so these pants sound like exactly what we need.

Oh Snoops, she just had to throw that tidbit of info in on this thread. :p

I guess different stores are popular with different kids.

I guess.......

The day my kids tell me they wouldn't be caught dead wearing clothes from any one store is the day I tell them to go get a job. :p

By the way, Jenn Lynn, you're daughter is absolutely adorable!

Thank you! :)

Judi-Levi's also makes adjustable waist for boys. My Nephew wears these and they fit great on him. :)

::yes::

Can anyone tell me where the best prices may be for this? I think this would be great for my son!

Am I the only one who has trouble buying jeans for their son? He is 4' and 60 lbs. Nothing seems to fit right around his waist. He's kind of barrel chested so I always buy bigger sizes. He tried on 10 - 12 pairs for school and we ended up with 2.

snoopy, the Gap and Old Navy are just not "cool". my girls prefer a different "look".

you don't have to spend a lot to look good -- if you know where to shop.

Yah, I guess the gap and old navy might be too conservative when the hoochie britney spears look is so in right now.

that's a rather nasty remark.

is that aimed at MY daughters, freshtressa?

seems to me you've made some assumptions. remember what they say about what happens when you assume.

you haven't seen my daughters or how they dress.

say, didn't you post that your son is into "skull" clothing?

Can you help us un"cool" folks out and tell us where to shop where you don't have to spend a lot to look good?

And just what is the "look"?

Inquiring minds want to know. :teeth:

I am thankful for the adjustable waist pants. My dd is very short but she has a tummy on her that will just not go away. I have been able to find a couple pair of the pants with the adjustable waist's that are supposed to be capri's but fit her like regular pants. Yeah!!

Normally I keep her in leggings because of her tummy.

Janice, I find a lot of their stuff at Century 21 -- a discount designer store. there's one in lower Manhattan, one on Long Island, not sure if there's one in your neck of the woods. got a lovley denim dress for my 12 year old in the junior department there.

another favorite shop is Delia's -- they love the Paul Frank screened t's. why buy a plain t shirt from the GAP if you can get one with a monkey face or or a cute slogan?

Luckily my 15mo and 3 1/2yo don't know they're not cool. LOL

I did hear one of the other kids mumble "nerds" as I dropped them off at daycare today.

Thanks for the tip, anydots.

There is a Century 21 somewhere here in Jersey. I'm certain that I heard that recently, but can't remember exactly where. Morristown, maybe?

I often shopped at the one across the street from the WTC when I worked in that neighborhood many moons ago. They used to have excellent buys on shoes then (we're talking about 20 years ago though).

Well, I'm shopping for an 8 year-old boy. I guess he'll have to deal with clothes from the Gap, Old Navy, TCP, and {GASP} J.C. Penney's.

I'm just grateful they're all selling jeans that he doesn't need a belt to keep from falling down. After all, none of us wants our kids' undies showing for all the world to see, right?

Man, some of the attitudes on this thread reminds me of how miserable the "rich" kids in my high school made me feel as I wore clothes from Kmart, etc.

I went to school in the rich, upscale town of Birmingham, MI. However, I was from the "poor" section of the school district, in Southfield. We were struggling at that time and believe me, the kids in that school let me know how uncool and classless and "scummy" I was because of where we shopped for clothes.

One of the reasons I totally support school uniforms. I am so glad we live in a rural town now, where everyone pretty much shops at the same place!

Well said, Kristy!

But, it's not really the kids fault. It is the parents who taught them to think that way. :(
