Hi, all -

I'm wondering if anyone has had any trouble with their request for adjoining rooms. When I booked our vacation package, I made it very clear to the Disney CM that we really needed this, and on our confirmation email it does have her notation, "Guaranteed adjoining," so I feel pretty good about that. BUT, I also realize that officially it's a "request" - so I guess I am just hoping for some peace of mind. ;) Has anyone had a long-term request for adjoining rooms and NOT had them deliver on that?

Thanks! I guess as the trip gets closer I just need more things to stress myself out about. ;) In case it matters, this is at the Contemporary.

Do you want adjoining rooms or connecting rooms? Adjoining means next to each other and connecting means there is an interior door that you can open and go back and forth between the rooms.

We have asked for connecting a few times and have gotten it. Still no guarantee that you will get your request.

If you really need to be together, you may want to consider a room that accomodates your entire group like a family suite or a villa.

First of all, do you want adjoining - near to each other, or connecting - with an interior door connecting the 2 rooms? Adjoining could be down the hall from each other, but in the same building.
And Yes, I was "guaranteed" connecting rooms and did not get them.
There are many frequent posters here in that boat.
No matter what your confirmation says, or what a CM will tell you, connecting rooms are never guaranteed.

Connecting rooms, yes, with a door between - I checked and the confirmation email says this, not adjoining. ;) Didn't know these were different things.

I would love to get a suite/villa instead, but there aren't any available for our dates, none. What do you think the chances are that 30 days prior (when trips are potentially being cancelled) some could open up if I check frequently, anyone have experience with that?

Yeahhhh, see....this is what I'm scared of, the CM was SO certain it would be fine, but I don't have much trust in that. I guess my best bet is to hope a suite or villa will open up?

Adjoining (as well as connecting) is just a request with no guarantee, regardless of what is printed on the confirmation or what a CM tells you. Disney does its best to accommodate requests and while a lot of people do get adjoining or connecting rooms, not everyone does. I agree with the pp that if everyone needs to be together, you might want to look for something that will accommodate your entire party. If that's not an option, all you can really do is have your request noted and hope for the best. With that said, if you find you don't have adjoining rooms upon check in, you can always ask if other rooms are available that would meet that request. It's not guaranteed your rooms can be changed, but it never hurts to ask. Good luck.

We have requested connecting rooms at Pop Century several times and have always gotten them. But we never go during peak season & once we did have to wait awhile for rooms to be ready.
We were always told by CM's that they couldn't guarantee connecting but would try to make it happen.

I have to agree with this and not based on personal experience, particularly with three rooms. Maybe you could let us know why it's necessary to have all three connecting, we can help you out more.

It's two rooms, not three, thankfully - I'd be a lot more worried if it were three. The CM (same one who "promised" connecting rooms) also told me to keep checking for Bay Lake Tower suites/other multi-room possibilities to open up after they were offered to DVC members, and that just never happened - searched daily for months. I will keep checking, especially at 30 days out and see if anyone cancels their suite...

The Contemporary? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that is one of the resorts that couldn't give me connecting rooms when requested. Found out later from a Disney travel agent that the Contemporary has a limited number of connecting rooms.

Nooooo...&*$$%&

I don't see one on this forum, but does anyone know of a place people post their intention to cancel certain rooms, kind of like the dining reservations "cancelled" boards on here?

The only advice I can offer is the following: Make Connecting Rooms your ONLY request. Check in at the resort as early as you can and remind them of your request. Also go over to Tourinplans . com They have a way to fax room requests in.

What about the new feature during online check in that reads
Connecting (Guaranteed)

Thanks, it IS our only request and I have to believe they'll do everything they can if they see that the CM wrote, herself, "guaranteed". I am a member of touring plans, but I'm not seeing anything about faxing in room requests, could you direct me? How is this different from doing it myself? Thanks so much, all.

It's not different than doing it yourself, just they do the leg work
You have to put a trip in your dashboard and from there you can add a Resort and then use the room finder to generate a fax

No matter what the language is on the reservation or request, connecting rooms are never guaranteed.

If for some reason they do not have any connecting rooms available, they aren't going to move somebody else to give you connecting rooms.

Forgive my rookie-ness, here, how early is online check in? I did a search and don't see that.

Which begs the question, why on earth did they add it to online check in? It wasn't necessary. There has to be a reason they put it there

60 days from arrival

They will do whatever they can, but it is possible, although a long shot, that circumstances could exist by which they would not be able to provide connecting rooms.
