Just to share an experience and I'm not saying this will happen. We had a family reunion at Disney World and needed four rooms. One for my husband and me (early 50s), one for my son and his family (early 30s and two kids eight years apart), one for my mother-in-law and brother-in-law (late 70s, early 50s), and one for my father and stepmother (early 80s, late 70s). So, diverse group. When I made the reservation (on the phone), I asked for all four rooms to be "together" and was told the only way that could happen would be pool view rooms so I booked those. Then, my father was deemed to be wheelchair bound for the trip so I called back and asked for at least his room to be on the first floor. I was told that two of the rooms could be on the first floor and they weren't sure about the other two and the two rooms on the first floor couldn't be pool view. So I switched the older folks to first floor and figured the youngsters would be fine with whatever.
People from three of the rooms happened to all check in together and I was the leader. It turned out Disney had all four rooms not pool view but all in a row. They even had my son's room and our rooms connecting. It worked out perfectly and I really think calling to explain the situation each time helped with what we needed and what we wanted.
