Adjoining rooms?

All these trips and never have I tried to get adjoing rooms. . . How hard is it? Jan 26th we will be down there with 4 adults and 4 children. One night is my birthday and DH and I wanna go get drinks or whatever. . .I would like to be able to tuck my 2 in and not have to wake them up when we get back to the room. We are staying at All Star Sports. Any help would be great!!!!

First let me fill you in on something that is unique to Disney - most hotels consider adjoining rooms to have a door that connects them. Disney does not - adjoining rooms simply means next to each other.

At Disney if you want two rooms with a door between them you must call them connecting rooms.

We have been getting 2 rooms for years now because we have 2 kids boy and girl that are teens and will share a bed. A DW and I like our privacy.

All we have ever done is listed the connecting rooms as our first and only request and we have always had them.

The only time they guarentee connecting rooms is if you will have children in the second room by themselves. We requested them on our last visit at WL and were given them. My DD was staying in the room with her Grandmother and I wanted easy access for her to go back and forth. They told me when booking though that it was not guarenteed since there would be an adult in the other room.

Yep - adjoining rooms mean side by side with a wall in between them. You can request connecting rooms but it will be just that, a request. Connecting rooms have the door in between them. My only experience was with a request for connecting rooms but adjoining if possible or in the same vacinity. We had seven adults and one child. We ended up with connecting rooms. And this was during Christmas/New Years. Make sure you request connecting rooms but be prepared for adjoining rooms.
