I know I have seen this discussed before. What was the verdict?

Can you be guaranteed adjoining rooms in a pop century/music/sports etc.? We have 5 people in our family and want to try renting two rooms in a value resort instead of doing POR.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Also, can you get a fridge in a value resort?

Thanks!

Mary Anne

Adjoining rooms are not guaranteed. Nothing is really guaranteed in the hotel industry- not even that you'll stay at the resort you booked.

Disney is generally pretty good about fulfilling requests, though.

You can request a fridge, I believe they are $10/day or free if it's for medical reasons.

Remember it is "connecting" rooms - not adjoining. I'm sure you want connecting (door inside the rooms connecting them). Long story short, we originally booked one room then decided to get a 2nd connecting room. When I called to modify the reservation I got conflicting information about being able to guarantee connecting rooms. One told me we could not guarantee unless there are 3 kids (there are only 2 plus me and DH). I called back later got a different rep and was told we could get a guarantee on connecting rooms. Moral of story - if you're told no, try again.

We had connecting rooms in 2006 at ASMo. We were told then that since we had 2 young children they WOULD guarantee connecting but if they weren't young children they wouldn't be able to. Our kids were 4 and 2 at the time. HTH.

My kids are 15 and 8 and they did guarantee...I guess I really got lucky!

Even "guaranteed connecting" isn't a guarantee.

If you have two adults, it is conceiveable throughout the hospitality industry that, if necessary, the adults can stay in separate rooms (so that no minors are in rooms alone).

Even if you have one adult and enough minor children to exceed a room's maximum occupancy, it remains possible that there will be no connecting rooms available - although THIS is the party which, if there's only one pair of connecting rooms and three parties, would/should get those rooms.

We had connecting rooms at POP in August. Again we when we booked we did not have a guarantee, however we had NO PROBLEM getting them at check in.:goodvibes
