I saw this quote on The Disney Wedding Blog.." Larger round tables can be brought in to replace the cocktail tables on the first floor, but there is a $2,500 removal fee and, depending on where they are placed, may limit the space on the dance floor."

I have read a ton of PJ's and looked at sample BEO's posted on the boards and I do not recall seeing this $2500 fee. Is it true that you have to pay $2500 to have the tables removed? I feel like it is such a large fee to remove 5 tables that are probably folding tables.

From the discussions I had with the sales folks that $2500 fee is for removing the smaller round tables that are on the first level around the dance floor. Those are made of marble and seat 2-4 people each. There is nothing permantly on the dance floor itself that needs to be removed, but you can put rounds on the dance, which will eat your dance floor space. I plan to bring in 6 tables for on the dance floor and still use the 2-4 tops surrounding the dance floor for the remainder of my guests.

Thank you for the clarification! I was so confused when I read that on the Disney Wedding Blog. I would do the same as you. thanks!

We had our wedding at ADH in December. We had wanted to pay the fee originally and move the small round tables that were not on the dance floor as all of our guests would not fit on the large round tables that would be put there. However, our planner talked us out of it. They have only had one bride actually do this in the past. We had six round tables for 10 people on the dance floor, a head table for 11 and then used three of the small round tables. I was really nervous about this would look but it ended up being fine!! We put our friends at those tables so they didn't care :)

Has anyone decided to use different shaped tables at ADH before? After seeing a few photos on google of a few ADH receptions, I really like the idea of using square tables at our reception. Does anyone happen to know how much it costs to rent these tables? Can you still seat up to 10 people at these particular tables? Do they take up more room than the round tables on the dance floor at ADH? Sorry for all of the questions!

Our coordinator had informed us during our site visit that this could be done (she had square tables at her reception), but she could not remember the pricing. :confused3

I was pretty bummed to also hear about this fee on our recent site visit. I ask our consultant for some pictures of what the large tables on the outside area would look like and she said they didn't have any, but sent me a pdf file of what it would look like. On the sheet, the small tables remain and the extra tables are on the wall by the doors to the balcony. I don't know if this is for a huge wedding where the small tables would be needed, but I figured if there is a few to move those heavy little tables they wouldn't be there anymore. :confused3

I just looked over my BEO, and we don't have the table removal fee. We ended up putting 4 tables on the dance floor, plus a sweetheart table and cake table. But we had a small wedding reception (39 + us).

We had plenty of room to even add another table if we needed it.

I was going to have the smaller tables removed, but am glad that I was talked out of it. When people weren't near the dance floor, they used the smaller tables to set their drinks, etc. on.

I also had intentions of using the smaller tables if we had more guests come, and I would delegate the floor tables to family, and the outside tables to friends. That might work, instead of moving the small tables to use bigger tables. It's not far enough away from the dance floor to make the outside guests feel alienated.

my cousin is a member of another planning site. She read some info I have never found. She says that there is a $300 removal fee when existing first floor furniture is relocated to another area such as the second floor and/or outside the club. The $2,500 removal fee is only when when tables/chairs need to be moved out of the building.

Has anyone else ever been told about this?

I'm pretty sure that the removal fee is only to remove the small 4-person tables/chairs that are on the first or second levels, not the ones that are acutally on on the dance floor. If you do not need these small tables removed, you don't get charged the fee.

We had our reception at ADH in March 2011 and were able to fit 8 large round tables on the dance floor, plus a sweetheart table, and we were not charged the fee. Our guest count was around 76 (including me and DH).

I kind of want the dance floor clear, I think. I have seen many photos of tables on the floor, but with our group, I think it would be crowded.
Also, lots of our guests are families. 2 or 4 person tables would split a lot of them up. If about half or so of the smaller tables were moved upstairs, it would be better for cocktail hour and allow anyone who wants a breather a place away from the group but still in the fun. Am I making sense?

But $2500 is a lot of money! Especially just to move furniture. $300 to move them? Easy decision! I am just wondering if this is old information and out of date or did I misunderstand the removal fee? I sent an email, but the Disboards are usually a 1000 times quicker!

I have not seen that info anywhere, so sorry that I can't comfirm yes or no on that one. :( Most of the people coming to our wedding that aren't family are couples so they are all going at the 2-4 people smaller tables. Family is going at large rounds on the dance floor.

Just FYI...This is not policy anymore. It is a flat $2500 to move the tables, whether upstairs or out of the building. This came from her consultant Pam.
