Additional shade for Maclaren Volo?

I bought a Volo a while back when they were cheap on Ebay. We'll be taking it to WDW in April. I have learned recently about the Kiddopotamus sun shade. Would this be a good addition to the Volo? My daughter will be turning one on the trip. She's a fair skinned strawberry blonde, so I am thinking additional shade would be good. Have you used this shade with the Volo? Does it make folding the stroller awkward? Would a thin blanket work just as well?

The Kiddopotamus sun shades are awesome! We used to have a single and we now use the double on our Tike Tech Trax stroller as it's great to be able to pull it down to block late afternoon sun. We put it on once ages ago and haven't had a need to remove it.

They're very lightweight, attach easily with velcro straps, and while I've never used it on a Volo, I've never had a problem folding a stroller while it was on. They're better than a blanket as the wired edge keeps the shade up and off your child to allow airflow and it's easily adjustable as to how far you want to pull it down. All the way down to make a little cave for naps or just a bit to block some extra sun without impairing the view too much.

We have a Kiddopatomus sun shade that we use on our Maclaren Quest. It works great to keep the sun off DD. No problems folding the stroller with it on. In fact, the only problem we have with it is that DD like to reach up and yank on it sometimes.

Another fan of the Kiddopotomus. Ours wasn't for the Volo, but it didn't cause any problems and provided great shade.

Thanks everyone! I needed to do some research because DH sometimes thinks I buy too many things for DD.

Do you have the black or gray shade? Do you think the color makes a difference?

I have a Volo. We didn't get a larger shade, I felt the one we had on the Volo was fine. But we did bring a large beach towel to drape over the Volo when we were on vacation in Myrtle Beach in June one year. Ds was having a sun reaction so we needed to keep him compleletely out of the sun. The beach towel worked perfectly. So if you really don't want to spend the extra money it's definitely not necessary.

I have been using the Kid. shade for the last several years and bought it specifically for my son's Triumph stroller on his first trip to WDW. I love everything about it. It's easy to attatch, and the stroller folds with no problems when I keep the shade attatched.

I don't have experience with the kid. shade, but just bought this one http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=325762 and we have been "practicing" for the last couple of weekends with MUCH success. My 2 yr old doesn't like the stroller at all, but I put her in it with this shade, and she makes not one peep!

It is easy to attach, folds with the stroller, provides full coverage, and has two hidden pockets on each side for sippy cups etc. It will definatly be a PLUS on our trip in Aug.

That is the one we used to have too....FWIW, it fit very nicely on the Volo...too bad they're sold out though....when's your trip? Maybe they'll be back in stock then??
