Additional Room Keys

DH and I are taking a trip Home in November. We're staying in a 1 BR. My parents will be joining us a few days into our trip. Will there be any problem getting additional room keys? I'm wondering how this affects getting wrist bands for Extra Magic Hours.

Will you be on the dining plan? If so, you will have to pay for the plan for them to get the keys.

Yes, we were getting the dining plan for us. They won't do a shorter plan for them, so it didn't make sense to buy 3 extra days of dining for 2 people who aren't there.

Did it used to be difficult to get more room keys? Or is it just the dining plan that makes it hard?

By rule you'd have to get the plan for them also to have them in the unit. Some have reported getting keys later without having to add one person but I don't think we've seen enough info to have a good feel for the likely outcome.

It is the dining plan that throws the wrench into the works.

If you weren't doing the dining plan, you could add them and add keys easily, but you wont be able to do that unless you either pay the extra days of dining, or drop the plan altogether. They don't want folks trying to feed 4 people on 2 dining plan tickets, so that's the reason. If it was me, I'd probably drop the dining plan. You will find you'll save in the long run that way anyway.

You can't just get "extra room keys" since every room key has a room occupant's name on it. You'd have to add them to the reservation. And, therein, lies the problem.
