Since an automatic gratuity is added to alcoholic beverages, but there is also a line for an additional amount, I am wondering if anyone ever gives an additional tip. We don't generally do that in the lounges, but I did on Castaway Cay on the theory that the server had to make her way through the sand to take my order and then deliver it...a bit more challenging than coming to a table. And by the way, this was the first time in 20 cruises that I've tried a Konk Cooler, and it was DELICIOUS!!!

On the ship I usually get my drinks at the adult pool, and they usually remember my drink, so YES I do tip extra. If I'm at another bar and the bartender or waitress is on the mark, I will usually leave alittle extra. (which come to think of it, is always).

Another konk kooler convert:)
they are good, yes?......
I add a tip when they have to bring the drink to me upstairs on deck 10 by the adult pool or at CC, like you said, they have to get thru that sand:)
I would also tip someone who made it a habit to check on me often to see if I needed a "refresher"
DH added a tip once when he told the bartender to make a drink strong, it was for me and he needed "all" the help he could get and the bartender joked with him and wished him "good luck;) "
By the way, that drink was very good:D

On the last night of our cruise we left a nice tip for one of the bar servers that really went out his way to make our trip special. He remembered all of our drinks (no small feat, there were a lot of us) and danced with us and just made the time special!

Like everyone else, I felt like if the server had to go out of their way (on deck or CC) I added a little bit....at the bar...nope.

You just NOW tried a Konk Kooler???? :D Oh my, I can't believe you've been missing out. Glad you've joined those of us who love our Konk Koolers (I prefer without rum, not a rum drinker).

And I generally do add another buck or two to the bar tab, depending upon the service. :)

I know it is hard to believe that I just now discovered that heavenly drink! But on the ship, I usually go for mudslides and hubby has wine with dinner (he can't drink a lot due to his blood pressure medication, but on the ship he has learned to enjoy a glass or two of wine with a good meal). On Castaway Cay, we're usually so busy that we've never had a chance to get one. This time, I just happened to be reclining in a hammock on the family beach, as we had gotten off the ship as soon as they opened the doors. When the server came along, I decided it was time to try it!! I will definitely be having more in the future :D
