Hi all,
Expecting the unexpected.....we will be expecting additional family to join us. I have room for them but they will only be staying 4 out of 6 nights. Is it possible to have them purchase park passes on their own (they are military and receive really good base prices), or do I include them on the same package as us that includes passes and dining plan?

If it is all adults and does not go over the capacity of the room you could wait to add them to the room until they arrive and then they could buy the military tickets. However if you do this they can not use Magical Express (or will have a harder time using magical express) and they can only book fastpasses at 30 days out. They also will not have the dinning plan. If you add them on now you will pay for 2 days where they won't be there including park tickets and dinning plan credits that they may not use. So it is up to you to weight the pros and cons of both options.

Just wanted to say I think kids can be added later but not 100% sure. Mostly it is adults that get added like this. If it is kids I don't think there is a charge but adults there is a charge.

would not include them on your package - the military gets good discounts on rooms as well as tickets - - if you include them on your package - then you will be paying for the nights they are not there - and don't really think you want to do that.

If you add them when you arrive, they will not get magic bands. They will not be able to get FP+ at 60 days out. They will be considered "day guests" and only get a card key to open the door. Unless the front desk is able to cancel your reservation and rebook it when you arrive. That's what we had to do when we added my son on the day we checked in. And with DVC points, you don't want the front desk to mess with your points.

As long as you aren't exceeding room capacity, you can add them at check-in and, yes, they can then buy their tickets separately. The only down side is they will not be able to make FP+ until 30 days prior to visiting the parks and no DME until they are listed on the reservation.
