Additional AKL comment... Housekeeping

I forgot to add this one, and it was so interesting,that I wanted a seperate post. I left money on the nightstand EVERY morning and EVERY night to tip mousekeeping, and every time, the money was left there. I didn't understand it, usually if I leave a tip for mousekeeping, it is always removed. I also never saw our mousekeeper, so I couldn't give it to him/her. Has this ever happened to anyone else?? I just thought is was very strange. Also, I wanted to post that our mousekeeper was GREAT!!! I just wish she had taken his/her tips!!!

It has only happened once, a couple years ago at WL. Sometimes the $$$ was gone and sometimes it was still there. We got very good service and were disappointed we weren't able to show our appreciation.

Hi.. I have had that happen too - that the money was not taken... so I would leave a note with it so they knew it was for them

Usually there is a little card in the room introducing themselves with their name...

I've had this happen before, can't remember where. I started leaving notes as well. Just something simple like, "For housekeeping. Thank you! "

Well, housekeeping is not considered at tipped position and they aren't really supposed to except tips...my guess it would be that it was a newer employee cleaning your room who stayed with in the employment contract and did not except tips....

By leaving money on the night stand, they can't be sure if it's a tip or you just left money there. I always leave the tip on the pillow. They have to make the bed so they're sure to see it and they'll know it's a tip.
