Adding to the beginning....or the end?

I'm working and reworking the points to extend a 5 night DVC stay, but we still may end up adding a couple of resort nights. I wonder, has your experience been that it's easier to add resort nights to the beginning or end of your stay? How does having DDP only for the DVC stay factor in? Are there any tricks to making this easier?

IMHO how easy it is to extend your stay depends on when you are going. Sometimes it easier one way and then other times it's easier the other. It really depends on the season and what's going on at WDW.

Well then, I'll tell you we are going Jan 27-31. I know that if we extend our DVC days at the end, we're using more points because Feb 1 starts a different "season".

A consideration for me is whether I would be moving up or down, so to speak. If I am tagging on a value stay, I would put that first so I finish up my trip in style. If I am doing a deluxe concierge, I might want to leave that to the end of my stay. Another factor, is what parks or events you may have planned and to use location to your advantage. There is no right or wrong way to do this!

I think the easiest night to add will be on January 26 because it takes more points for a Friday night but I think it would still be early enough to add to either end of the reservation. You're a couple of weeks after the marathon and MLK day and a couple of weeks before Presidents' day. But the first weekend in February this past year they had the National Dance Team Championships. So you may either want to be there or avoid it because of that.
