Adding to current discount code??

Ok...I booked and paid for our trip using a discount code and now we are down to 18 days I would now like to add the quick service dining but Disney will charge me the extra to add to dining plan since we are less than 44 days out. It's like an $84 difference! I know the terms say that any changes made will have a $50 charge....even when wanting to give them more money! I am wondering at check in, if I ask to have it added will they will still charge me the extra. Has anyone ever added the dining plan at check in and were you charged the extra?

The latest you can add a dining plan is 72 hours before your check in date, you can't add it at actual check in.

If you are adding the QSDP and not downgrading from another dining plan, you most likely will not be charged the fee. Disney usually only charges a change fee if the cost of your trip decreases. The dining plan must be added at least 3 days prior to arrival, so you cannot add it at check in.

Thanks for the quickk replies!! We do not have a dining plan added at the current time. Just wanted to add it for 2 adults and 2 children and my figures were $563 for 6 nights, but when I called I was told it would be $647. We can eat several meals for that $84 difference (DH likes the convience of the dining plan). I may call back and hopefully I can get someone different that may not charge me the difference for upgrading my package.

Hmm, those numbers that Disney gave you don't add up? Why would they charge you $84, not the $50 fee if it indeed was for the change of plan fee? It looks like they may have quoted you for 7 nights (which would bring it to $657), not 6? How many nights is your trip?

How many days are your tickets for? You get the same number of days on each.

The dining plan is based solely on the number of nights you are staying in your hotel.

We are staying 6 nights and 7 days and I know that the dining plan is for the number of nights that you are staying. I called Disney last night and the CM that I spoke with was VERY nice. He said the big difference is that the rates for the Quick Service Dining in JUNE is $39.99 per adult and $14.99 per child. The rates for dining in the summer are $5 more per person. The first person that I spoke with did not explain this. I think we can get out cheaper just buying meals instead of paying $647 for the summer rate. Either way....We have 17 days till our magic begins!!!

Ahhh ok I didn't realize they upped the QS rates for the summer as well, thought it was only the regular and deluxe plans that they raised during "peak" season. That's a big jump!
