If you buy through Disney and are logged onto MDE they will be added to your account automatically. It will ask you who each ticket should belong to when you purchase. There will be nothing else you need to do to book your fastpass at 60 days.

You can't add the tickets to the reservation in the form of a package, but you can purchase tickets and link them to your MDX account, and as soon as you do that, you will be able to make fastpass reservations 60 days from arrival.

You actually can if you call. They can switch it to a package but doing that means that the total is due 2 months out instead of the room only being due at check in. The only reason to call and switch to a package is if you want to also add the dinning plan.

If you do that, it changes the character of your reservation. Also your deposit would be refunded and you'd need to pay a new deposit. Unless you want to add a dining plan, you don't need to have a package.

I've done this.
You log into your MDE account, then buy tickets, and they are automatically added to your account, you assign them to each person in your room, and then you can do FP when ready.

This is EXACTLY how it works. I did it about a month ago. Same for Christmas Party tickets.

Unless there is a NEED to buy "Package Tickets" (like for "free dining") it is much better and more flexible (and CHEAPER) to order all of your tickets from a WDW authorized ticket reseller (like Undercovertourist.com or Parksavers.com) and NOT FROM DISNEY.

Even if you order "stand-alone" tickets from Disney, those tickets will NOT be "price-bridged" if you want to upgrade them, if there is a ticket price increase before your trip.

Yes, I'm saying do not buy your tickets directly from Disney. And, it's DISNEY'S OWN RULES that make it better to buy from an authorized third party!

You can manually add these authorized third party ticket numbers to your MDE account and make FP+ reservations as early as 60 days before your arrival date.

And again, unless there is an actual REQUIREMENT to buy "Package Tickets" (like for "free dining") it is much better to stay away from buying
a "package" at all.

One reason is that if for some reason you want to arrive a day or more EARLIER than you planned,
although you will be able to get your package ticket "activated" for use up to 10 days before your "package arrival date,"
you will NOT be able to book advance FP+ attractions for those "early days" until the actual day that you arrive and activate your tickets.

Again, it's DISNEY'S OWN RULES that make it better to buy from an authorized third party!

I booked a two night stay at pop for July and then went in and purchased one day tickets but after I put in my credit card it said I had to get them through will call, I tried to link everything in mde but I keep getting sorry there is an error. Has anyone else had an issue like this?

I would call Disney and request help with this.

Yes, if the problem doesn't resolve by itself (many glitches do,)
then call the WDW I.T. Dept. at
(407) 939-7765 (option #2) or (407) 939-3471.
