How late can I wait to add it to my reservation? We are going in October and are not sure if we want to add it or not.

Does anyone know? Thanks!

Disney asks that you add it at least 45 days prior to departure, so they have time to make sure your documents they send out are correct.

I have been told when I called Disney that you can add it on any time before you leave, though. Its just "modifying" your reservation. The only thing you would risk is not having correct documents before you leave, but even that's not really a big deal.

You must apply it at least 3 days prior. I tried to do it a day or so in advance and could not apply it.

We had a room only & flipped it to MYW w/dining about 2 months out.

Recently, I was told min. 5 days prior to arrival but, can't imagine WDW turning you down if feasible.

45 days would be great. That gives me until 8.21 to decide.

Thanks!

i just added 4 weeks out no prob

but cm told me 5 day min cause it takes time to filter out to all the computers in the reseraunts

If you have a room-only reservation, you cannot add the dining plan. If you want to add the dining plan, you have to make a completely new reservation. I tried to do it last year and there were no vacanies at my hotel so I had to keep the room-only reservation.

They need 5 days.

You can add it to an existing reservation IF your reservation is at DVC (no tickets needed) or your current package includes room and tickets. Otherwise, you must buy a package that includes room/tickets/dining.

As previous poster stated, sometimes rooms are "reserved" for certain packages, so you must have one where dining can be added OR they must have availability in a package that will let you do it.

We have the MYW package. I need to do a cast comparison of what we are likely to spend on food versus the cost of the dining plan. In my case, I think the dining plan adds about $532 (two people, 7 nights). The problem - my wife had gastric bypass two years ago and we are not sure that we would realize any savings.
