Adding room request to reservation

I read a thread the other day that said WL will not accept any more faxed room request (after a certain date), and that possibly other resorts may follow. I saw it on All Ears as well. I’m not staying at WL this time, but I figured I would try the new procedure. I spoke with a very polite and helpful CM that took care of adding the request to my reservation. She even gave me a free refrigerator because of a medical condition that my wife has. She did remind me many times that they cannot guarantee the request would be fulfilled. I told her I understood, thanked her, and ended the call. My question is, how do I know that the room request was actually added to my reservation? I have a room only through CRO/WDTC (or whoever they are today). Thanks.

John

CRO is very good at adding your requests to your reservation. I think that is a better way of doing it.

I want to request a certain room also and I'm wondering if I need to call back right before we get there...I very crabby CM told me why would I do that but wondered if it would get lost in the shuffle once they actually begin to make assignments? any help wwould be appreciated

I think you would have a better chance of getting your request if it is in your reservation.

When you get there and find out the room you can always ask again at that time. Disney really does try to accomodate.

I added a room request to my upcoming trip and actually got a new confirmation letter with modified request at the top.

kbkids - Did you request a new confirmation letter, or did they automatically send one out?

John

I got a new letter in the mail, same confirmation number, just at the top was printed in big letters, modified request. Everything else looked exactly the same, but they had added in the body of the letter, "non-smoking guaranteed."

I wonder if it depends on what you requested..I just asked for a particular room, not thinking about the smoking part .hate smoke so hope if we get a smoking room it will be ok since I do not want to call again but will ask for it in feb at Por since it's older and would be more smelly if smoking room

Re: Non-smoking rooms... I was told that Disney now has an automatic non-smoking room policy. Non-smoking is an assumed request, unless someone actually requests smoking. This makes sense to me as most hotels and motels now operate this way. However, the website still has a place to check if you want non-smoking and not a space to check if you want smoking. I have to call and make the final payment on my Visa card (using the kids play free package) so I plan to make sure they add "non-smoking" to my request. Also, I've already called once and added my room requests to my room. I received a confirmation in the mail with the room requests noted without requesting one.

When I called to request adjoining I mentioned wanting a non smoking and the CM said "oh, that isn't noted here" so I assume that they did not assume (that is alot of assuming! :p _ that I wanted non smoking.

Anne
btw....I did receive another confirmation after they added the connecting/non-smoking.

has anyone ever gotten a modified one for requesting a certain number room? i am wondering since that is not something they 'guarantee'if it is different. i haven't so OH WELL!!!
