Adding Room Request to Online Checkin a No-GO?

I searched here and couldn't find an answer. I checked in online and everything went fine until I selected the "Add Room Request" box. It opened a window similar to the other ones, but this time there was nowhere to type anything. I saved what I had and tried again to no avail. I also tried using IE, Chrome and Firefox but nothing helped. Has anyone been successful adding room requests?
 
Room requests for DVC reservations must be noted on the reservation by MS. The room requests option during on-line check-in was designed for CRO guests.
 
Guess I'll be calling MS today. I must have missed that somewhere. You'd think it wouldn't be a live link on the checkin page if we can't use it. Thanks!
 
I always make mine via the phone. The room request online function doesn't do anything for us. Sometimes it will give you a request for an upper floor. It's easier to call. I always call in the afternoon with calls of this type, so that I leave the mornings to those trying to get their reservations.

We have friends that traded into DVC via their RCI; would you happen to know how they would go about making a room request ?

If you are within the time period for checking in online, you are likely far too late to be making a room request. That is best done at the time you make your reservation. I've been told that the requests go to room assigners around 2 weeks before the reservation starts. Member services is where you call...NOT the resort.

They should have been given a contact number in their exchange documents.
 
I checked "near transportation" on the on line form, and when I got to SSR, the CM smiled and showed me how close we were to the bus stop. It worked for me. I hadn't made that request any place else.

Thank you Diane, I'll will tell them to look through the documents ( although I'm not sure they have received that yet since their reservation is 6 months from now ).

You would think that, wouldn't you?! Too bad Disney IT doesn't agree...:laughing:

What a novel idea. Or better yet maybe it could be in the plan that when online reservations go into effect for DVC you'll be able to use that block for DVC online check in to.

Hmmm, even to me that sort sounds like a Pollyanna type of wishful thinking. :3dglasses
