Adding points through resale

If you own a DVC purchased directly from Disney (ex: OKW), and you only have 75 points, can you purchase additional OKW points (let's say 175) on the resale market and combine them? If so, can you book at OKW at 11 months out, combining them to have 250 points?

How would it work if you purchased resale at another resort (Animal Kingdom, for example). Would you be able to combine your OKW points to your AK points and book at AK 11 months out? If not, would you at least retain your perks for having purchased one DVC originally from Disney?

Yes, you can combine your direct and resale OKW points to book OKW at 11 months.

Your points retain their home resort windows. So, if you bought AKV, you'd be able to use those points to book AKV at 11 months, your OKW points to book OKW at 11 months, and you can combine them at 7 months to book anywhere. It doesn't matter whether the AKV points are direct or resale, the same booking rules apply.

Once you have a qualifying blue card contract, as long as you own it you retain the perks of blue card membership.

I don't own DVC yet but from all the research I've done it seems to be a bit of a headache to have multiple use years. It seems like it would be best to buy a resale contract that has the same use year as your direct contract.

Yes. Your annual fees pay for that.

Just to add, points bought on the resale market today are only good for booking the L14 resorts. You can not use them to book RIV or future resorts. So, if you have OKW points prior to Jan, 2019, even though you could use those points for RIV, the new ones would not be available for that resort.

However, if you are booking any of the L14 resorts, all your OKW points could be used for those...the current ones owned and the new ones.
