We are new owners @ BLT. We are considering adding on points. If we did that now, would we get points for this year, then more points in Feb, our current use year? Not sure how an add on works. Is there an incentive of any kind for adding on? I know the price went up. If we decide to add on, I assume I call my guide, correct?

Yes, you would call your guide. They can tell you if current year points are still available. For existing members you might still be able to get the pre-increase price, but there are reportedly only a few days left. You can get a pretty good snapshot of incentives here:

I agree, call your Guide.

The incentives or deals can change at any time. Only you Guide has the up to date information.

We own at BCV and added on 50 points at BLT earlier this month. We bought at $112. and there was an additional $250. developer bonus for purchasing at least 50 points. I'm not sure if this added incentive is still available. I would call your guide ASAP.

I spoke to my guide yesterday and she quotes $112 per point with $5 per point incentive which took the cost to $107 per point for 50 points...

I also just added on yesterday (points are already in the system). As previous poster stated, wih a add on of at least 50 points, the price is $107 ($5 off $112). Also I got 2009 June use year points, in which the dues will be prorated for 2 months). My guide told me that if my use year had been earlier than June that I would not have received any 2009 points since that was the first use year they began to give points at BLT)

The price goes to $120 tomorrow for everyone--don't know if they will continue to offer any incentives.

That doesn't sound right- I thought all BLT contracts got 2009 points & it was only VGC that had a UY cutoff for who got their first points in 2010...

DVD doesn't give you points if the official opening date hasn't occurred yet. You can't get points for something that doesn't exist.

In most cases, that is probably right. But in BLT's case, DVD has given 2009 points for all UYs, including those that commenced before BLT's grand opening on August 4, 2009. Almost two-thirds of all BLT points sold to date are in the February UY, and everyone got 2009 points. I believe that is one reason why some VGC owners with February, March, and April UYs are wondering why their points won't commence until the 2010 UY.

In looking at AKV contracts, I've seen some June and August UYs that didn't get their allocation of points until the 2009 UY, even though the contracts were sold in August-October of 2008. Perhaps DVD didn't give 2008 points for those contracts because those particular points had been declared for Kidani Village, which didn't open until May 2009.

:confused3 We have a February use year from our purchase at BLT and we received our full 2009 points. Since the resort did not open until August, our due are prorated for 2009. Not sure what your guide is referring to regarding use years before June. Perhaps since the period to bank the 2009 points has already come and gone for some (but not all) of the months prior to June, they are cutting off selling those points until 2010. :confused3

This is true for us too -

Vlee, your guide may have been pulling your leg.

I purchased 130 BLT points in April and then again another 130 in June. My Use Year was March both times and I received 260 2009 March Use Year points in all.

Disneynutz,

I am an example where they do. I have 260 2009 March Use Year points. I banked them all and now have 520 2010 points even though I only own 260 points in all. I am paying for Maintenance Fees on those points. I am paying for MF on 130 Points beginning in April for my April purchase and another 130 points beginning in June for my June purchase. The fees didn't start coming out of my checking until 10/1 so they were prorated. Disney paid for my MF for 2009 for March on my April purchase and March, April and May for my June purchase.

Yep, apparently he was misinformed on the use year deal since others also said they got theirs and that is good. I only have to pay Maintenance fees on two months for 2009. I really wasn't concerned so much since I know that I got them for 09.
