A fellow member once mentioned that I could pay extra (~$25 a day) to add a person to my room at Aulani. So instead of 4 people in a studio, I could have 5. He said that they wouldn't provide any extra linen but that the person would get a band to use the facilities.

Is that accurate? If so, do I call member services to add that on or just do it when I check in?

Thanks

There is no fee to add a person to a room if you are under room occupancy. if you are not under room occupancy there is not a fee to add a person you simply can't do it. So you will not be allowed to add a 5th person (unless they are under 2) to a studio room at any resort (except VGF which has a studio occupancy of 5).

They do normally allow a 5th person in a 1 bedroom that is set up for 4 (except for AKV value) but do not provide bedding (including sheets, pillows, ect, or towels) for that person. You can only set this up the member services.

You can't have five people in a studio anywhere but GFV unless the fifth person is under the age of three. Aulani is very strict with official guests. No listed as a guest on the reservation, then they cannot use the resort facilities.

That doesn't make sense on the DVC side, but makes more sense on the hotel side. Are you sure the fellow member was not actually talking about the hotel?

You can't exceed occupancy in hotel rooms either.

I have a reservation for 2 of us to stay at BLT. Can I add a third adult? Thank you.

Yes, the occupancy is four people plus one under age 3. If you have a dining plan, everyone on the reservation must have it.

We added a 5th person to the 1 bedroom last year 1 day after we checked in with no problems or the need of extra $$ PLUS just called housekeeping to asked for extra sheets and pillows with no questions asked! ;) However we did bring our own queen size air mattress. So 1 kid on couch, 1 kid on air mattress & last kid on Aulani murphy bed.

Housekeeping is not supposed to provide you with sheets or pillows but they sometimes will. I would not count on it every time you do this. You are supposed to provide all of it when you choose to add an extra air mattress. These rooms actually sleep 5 however- they expect you to sleep 2 on the couch.

Can you pay for extra sheets an pillows if you do add a 5th person? If so, do you know how much?

And I know I have read at least one irate post by someone who could not get the supplies

I have never seen a charge listed anywhere and have always been told that you must provide the bedding some I assume that they do not plan on providing it and don't make a habit of doing so- if they planned on providing it even for pay we would see the ability to pay for it but there isn't a price listed with the other housekeeping items. I would not plan on using the hotels items if you want an extra bed.
