So I booked our room & another room for ILs this morning --
now SIL is going too she decided

my question is do we add her on to the reservation or not...

here's the thing - ILs are booked for 5 nites & she only wants to stay 4 nites
we booked packages so the only way we can add her is to do everything for 5 nites
I called Disney & they said other way to do it is to pay the extra adult charge for the 4 nites she is there & then buy her tix & flight separate - she won't be able to the dining plan like the rest of us though...

what do you think -- she didn't tell the room charge for an extra adult at CSR & I can't find that anywhere

Looks like for a 3rd person in the room it would be an addl $865 roughly --- separately it would be $289 for her flight, $330 for her tix - plus her food & then transportation to & from airport since the rest of us are doing Magical Express - that looks like around $100-120 RT.

Any opinions???

If you don't add her to the reservation ahead of time, I don't think she can use Magical Express.

I know that's a big deal - it seems kinda silly for us to all fly in together & then ILs, hubby & daughter & I get on Magical Express and then she has a taxi to take all by herself.

Tell her her options and let her decide how she wants to do it. Explain she can do one less night and not have DDP at all and buy a ticket separate. Or, be added on to the res, pay for the extra adult, and end up paying for a day she is not there.
Or maybe add her with the five nights w/DDP and someone in your group compensate her for the food credits someone else can use for the night she is not there. :confused3
Extra adult charges are $10 per extra adult (over 2 adults) at value resorts, $15 at moderates, and $25 at deluxes.

She also won't be able to do EMH.

As long as they add her to the room upon her arrival, she will get a room key and access to EMH! The extra cost for her per night at a moderate is $15/nt.

I have a thought, the morning she is to arrive at the resort, go down to the front desk and add her to the room. Then she should be able to use ME because she will be on the room. You can always call ME that day to have them confirm that she is listed on the room. I've had this happen with people arriving and leaving on different days and have never had a problem with ME.

I would just go ahead and add her for the five nights on the package. The extra day on the ticket is really not a lot at the five days, and anyone can use her meal credits and snack credit for that day. If you are on the same reservation, the meal and snack credits can be used anyway within your party. (As long as you are all on the adult plan) Paying the extra 15 for one night is worth having it for the dining plan. I think in the long run, it will still be worth it than paying OOP for all her meals.

If I add her to the package & she leaves a day earlier than ILs - will ME still take her to the airport - We'll just arrange her flight for the day earlier than when ILs leave -

I don't know why everyone is so difficult - I am booking all this stuff & the ILs (SIL & BIL included) can't make up their minds but they can't do their own bookings either --- BIL won't commit to anything & he's just going to fly down whenever he decides while we're all there I guess - I am not worrying about him at all - he may just sleep in a cardboard box while he's there for all I know.

She does need to be on the reservation in advance to use ME. However, if you don't want to do it that way, she can just buy a Mears ticket when she gets to the airport. It's about $30 roundtrip, and she will be on the same bus as you. We did this with my brother last August. Then she can just get on a returning ME bus when she is ready to go back to the airport (they will give her a return voucher).

We added my brother to our room when we got to the resort. He bought his tickets separately, and then joined us for our meals and paid cash for his food. It worked very well. We did not need to pay for a 3rd adult since we had 2 rooms booked (we have 4 kids).

Do whatever works for you, but using the Mears ticket and adding your SIL to the reservation when you get there is actually very, very easy.

Except that advance reservations are required to use Magical Express, and 'same day' is likely not consider advanced enough.

Caveat: She will probably be on the same bus as everyone else; then again, given the typical Mears processing time, she may not.
