We've had ressies since 90 days out and now my mom and dad are joining us. We've tried online several times to find ressies for 6 rather than 4 and NOTHING is open for our restraunts....what should we do? I'd hate to not eat with them but we have the ressies we want! Most of our dining times are right at 4:00, an off time. Would it be unfair of us to just show up at our dinners with 2 extra people? would they even try to accomodate that? and then have a backup plan for mom and dad if they won't accomodate you? wwyd???

I know this feeling right now! My sister and her DH are now joining us for the first part of our trip and I am trying to find something for a party of 4 now for the night of my DH's bday! We're going to be spending the day at MK and there is NOTHING in or around MK for dinner! I know it's free dining (which we are having to pay for because we're going through DVC) but it makes me wonder what the crowds are going to be like while we are there! Right now I'm just trying to take anything I can get. It's IMPOSSIBLE I do believe to add people to an ADR.

It will depend on the CM you hit and how flexible they are:

Last summer there was a party in line ahead of us at CP with 3 extra people than their reservation was made for. The waiting line was HUGE and the front porch, steps and walkways were overflowing with people waiting. The CM noted on the reservation that it was for 9 people, not 6, and told them they'd see what they could do, however they may be broken up. The family was seated about 10 min before us & they were seated at adjacent tables.

BTW - I thought ressies were peanut butter cups. :rotfl: I prefer the term ADRs ;)

I'm really really hoping that adding one person will not be too big a problem to my most sought after ADR's. The boy's aunt will be joining us @Disney for a few days and of course, it's the days we have ADR's @Tusker House and O'hana!!

Ohanas is one of mine I'm concerned about too! There's NOTHING for my dates left at Ohanas. I checked for a table of 6, then just 2 thinking they could eat maybe "near" us, nothing. Nothing, nothing NOTHING!!!!:scared1:

Unfortunately once an ADR is made you can't add additional persons to it. You have to check availability and see if there is any.
If doing by phone, the CM will have to cancel and then attempt to rebook the ADR, you risk definitely losing your reservation this way.

Fair to show up with two extra? In my opinion, no but you can try it, you will either be accomodated or not. Tables are setup for 2 4 or in the case of 6 a 2 and a 4 are pushed together given advance notice. In the case of showing up on a 4 reservation with 6 persons, that extra two top table may not be available.

ADR's get a little more complicated all the time, it seems adding persons is one of the more difficult things to do.

I had to add one extra person to all of our ADRs a few trips ago so I called dining. I was able to add her to all the reservations and kept the same times except for one, and for that one we just had to adjust the time by an hour. Keep trying, adrs are cancelled all the time.

My reservations last year was all 2 short . Knock on wood they was able to take care of us as long as we had a ressie which we did.......:goodvibes
