This has probably been posted before but, I have made all my ADR’s for free dining in Sept. Now my parents are thinking about joining DF and I for a few days. I know since it’s free dining time it would be pretty much impossible to call and add people to our table for a few meals. I’m wondering if it would be ok if they just came with us. Would they seat them with us? Instead of just two people, it would be four same ADR time…? :confused3

You may be ok, you may not.During most of the year they would probably just seat them with you.But with free dining all bets are off. They may seat you, they may tell you it will be a longer wait , or they may tell you no.It is up to the discretion of the podium Cm , how busy the restuarant is at that time, and how popular the resturant is.

A table for two is a lot different then a table for four. I think it would be A) inconsiderate of you and B) you may find difficulties and are turned away in some cases.

We have been every September, since the free dining promos began. I know a couple of years ago during free dining we saw a family turned away at Le Cellier and also at Crystal Palace who were trying to add family members to their ADRs. During any other time of the year, it may or may not be a problem, but as the previous poster said, during free dining all bets are off. Those TS restaurants are packed and just looking for an excuse to turn people away. We also saw people turned away from ADRs, because they were late for their ADR. During any other time, they probably would have worked them in.

edited: really at Le Cellier the original family walked on in and the extras went somewhere else. At CP they were trying to add a grandma and grandpa. The whole family walked off with the kids crying.

I have the same problem. My aunt decided to come with us after I made all the reservations. So now instead of 10 people we have 11. I was able to add her to most of them but the hardest one is 1900 Park Fair for dinner. I've called quite a few times hoping for a cancellation and talked to many different cast members and they have all told me to just show up with the extra person. But i am so afraid that they will turn us all away. I'm just gonna keep trying and hope for a cancellation!

To add two people to an existing party of two would mean you would have to have a different table.

The original party would be seated at a table for two. The new party would be seated at a table for four.

Let me give an example (not based on anything but just an example). The restaurant has seating for 60. Ten tables are for two so that's 20 people. The other ten tables are for four people. So, when you arrive, one table for two is available but all the other tables are occupied and the parties just got there. What is the host going to do?

Yeah, I know that's not what is going to happen but that's what the restaurant is going to have to experience in a lesser form. Put yourself in their position.

After booking all of my ADRs for free dining, we decided to take my cousin's two children with us, which changed our group from 10 to 12. I was able to change all ADRs except Coral Reef. After calling several times to try to change it, the CM told me we should just show up early and ask if the could add the extra two.

I guess we will try it. We have never eaten at Coral Reef, and I really hate to cancel. If we get there and they won't allow us to add the additional two people, I guess two of the teenagers will go eat a CS somewhere.
