Hard to believe that in less than two weeks, my boys and I will finally be at Disney World. After a ton of planning and research on these boards, I'm finishing up my plans. With the recent night time entertainment getting announced, I have realized that I should get the park hopper option once I get there. I will be staying at Coranado and currently have a 6 day base tickets for myself and sons ( 12 and 9) A couple of questions.

1. I believe I heard that the cost to add park hoppers is $69 per person.
Can anyone confirm.
2. Can I do this as soon as I check in, is there any benefit to waiting. ( I booked a package directly through Disney.
3. How much more in addition to the park hoppers would the water park option be. After looking at the water park hours, I'm not sure it would be worth it, but I would consider it if the cost was minimal. Thanks.

Yes I've been corrected, adding park hopper is $69 on a 6 day ticket (or any length of ticket).
Waterparks and more adds $26 to the hopper ticket price and gives you 6 visits to use at the 2 Disney waterparks, ESPN Wide World of Sports, the 2 Disney Mini Golf courses or Disney's Oaks Trail Golf Course.
So $95/person to upgrade your 6 day tickets to waterparks and more with park hopper.

Waterparks and more by itself (without park hopper) is $64/person. Could save you a little money if you don't intend to Park Hop.
It's not considered Park Hopping to use a Park ticket for part of the day and a Waterparks and more visit for part of the same day (ie: Blizzard Beach in the morning and AK in the afternoon/evening).
It's only Park Hopping if you intend to go to more than one Theme Park in the same day (ie: DHS in the am and Epcot in the pm)

That is not correct. It is one price no matter how many days.
You are correct, looks like my math was off when I was figuring prices for our September trip.

Hey that's extra cash for the souvenir column of the budget, thanks :D

Edit: Went back and fixed my previous post...sorry guys/gals

Thanks for the clarification.

Easier to add the park hopper at a theme park or the hotel?

If you are going for rope drop, probably best to do it at the resort.
If you don't have time, you can still do it at Guest Services before entering the park OR after entering the park, just go to Guest Services (on the inside, usually near the gates) sometime before you are ready to leave the park.

As to #2 - you can upgrade now over the phone if you like (no idea whether you can do it online) or wait until arrival. Same price either way. Only advantage to waiting is just in case weather or illness or any other issue would make you decide against it. Once bought, you cannot remove the options, so waiting reduces some of the "what ifs"

Getting the Water Parks and More option potentially makes you able to do "something" every day for 12 days, if you were to go to a main park OR a water park every day. 6 days is just enough for my family for the main 4 parks, but possibly if you weren't doing multiples days in certain parks, you could consider dropping to a 5 day hopper with Water Parks and More, if you were going to spend at least one full day in water parks. Wouldn't be a huge savings but about $11 per ticket.

Depending on when you bought your tickets and who you bought them with it might be better to use the tickets first to get into your first park, and then upgrade to PH at guest services when you leave that first park. The reason is if your purchase price is cheaper than the current price of your tickets now, they might charge you the difference in addition to the upgrade. Once you use the tickets once, they can do a price bridging which will save you the cost of the price difference.

This is good advice in general, but OP said they bought a package through Disney, so it doesn't apply to them.

Package tickets do need to be price bridged, but price bridging isn't dependent on ticket usage. OP can upgrade the tickets anytime they like. I wouldn't do it at a resort unless absolutely necessary because they're notoriously bad at ticket stuff.
