Adding one person to existing reservation

We have a reservation at Topolino's for our last evening, for 2. My son surprised me and will be joining us for our last couple of days. Our reservation is the ideal time for us (6:30pm). Anyone have any experience showing up with one more person than stated on their reservation? Of course I am trying to get a new reservation but as you all know, not so easy.

You might be able to add one more person when you check in on the app. You also might not be able to. People have reported both.

We had mixed results with the 'add a person' opportunity when checking in online. Many restaurants did offer it, and I would hope since you have a reservation for 2 and are looking to seat 3, your change might be a higher potential. Disney restaurants don't really seem to do much with tables for 2 - they are mostly designed for 4 or more, so hopefully setting up another chair at a table you already have reserved might work out for you. Depends if they have you seated at a 2 or 4 person table.
I would call to see if they can change it.
We have never just showed up with an extra, but I have read reports with mixed results.

I wouldn't just show up, there's a good possibility your reservation is for a 2 person tabletop.
