I bought through Disney in 2003 a SSR 160 pt contract with Dec UY. We then added on through Disney in 2008 another SSR 160 pt contract with Dec UY. This was all before I knew about resale.

My husband now wants to add on at the Beach Club, as he likes that best. We stayed last weekend at BLT and although we loved the room, my husband dislikes the contemporary theme. So although I know that BLT would be best, as it has a longer contract and is on the monorail and the rooms are newer, I think I will go with what my DH wants.

Right now there are not too many BC resales in Dec UY. How difficult will it be to manage another contract with a Feb UY? I chose Feb, as it is close to DEC. Someone I spoke with told me it would not be difficult at all. When I call to bank points for SSR contract on July 31, I will probably know my plans at that point and can bank my BC points on that date as well, even though I don't need to bank them until a full two months later. Oh, I forgot to mention that I am a public school teacher and my vacations are Feb and April that we usually travel. Although my children will get older as the years go on, I don't forsee my travel habits changing for at least another 15 years until I retire. Does this make sense? Any guidance from those with multiple UY would be great!

Thanks advance for any advice on either issue: buying BC resale and different UY being Dec and Feb.

The distinction with two is that you can't use points in both to reserve a single night. Thus, if you want to use points from both use years for one trip, you need to book some nights with the points in one use year and the other nights with the points in the other use year and link them. Also, you have to follow two separate contracts for banking purposes. You will also have two separate annual dues bills and if you have monthly automatic withdrawal of dues from your account, you will see two entries a month rather than one. You will also have two member numbers and cards but never need to carry more than one (for anything you might need it for it does not matter which you carry) and for your on-line account they will both appear when you sign in and go to your account info. Other than the above, there is really nothing different from having just one use year.

A good education is a powerful tool. :goodvibes

You have already purchased multiple contracts at a resort that is not your husbands favorite. I suggest that you spend some time reading through the various posts here on the DIS where the subject of multiple UY's is discussed frequently.

My only advice would be to make sure, if you go ahead, to get the BCV contract with enough points to do what you want without having to borrow.

We had two UY's last year, Oct and June. Our VWL contract was only 50 points and BLT was 130. I realized, when I started making our 2010 trip that I could not book the six night trip at 11 months, without borrowing points.

My 130 points at BLT were not enough to book 4 nights, and my 50 points at VWL were not enough to book 2 nights.

So, I ended up selling VWL and just added on 50 more points at BLT, same UY.

I loved being able to book the whole trip at 11 months out. At 7 months, I called and changed 3 of the nights to BCV. I didn't have to worry about transferring or anything.

Good luck!

I would contact The Timeshare Store & tell them what you're looking for. They are great to work with! I would stick with same use year. Just be patient, something may come available soon.
