adding on when your use year is sold out?

We have a March use year at HH, which I know is sold out. If we were to do another add-on, would Disney give us a different use year, or put us on a waitlist for a March use year?

One more question- would it be easier to manage two different use years both bought through Disney, or two contracts with the same use year, but one purchased through Disney and the other a resale?

Thanks!

We narrowly missed out before the Dec use year at VWL was sold out and were so disappointed. Two guides and a supervisor told us Disney would not sell us a different use year unless we were purchasing at least 150 points, which is considered a new contract. We went on the wait list and received a call about 3 1/2 months later that there were points available at BWV for the Dec use year. We just weren't interested, and I politely said that perhaps we'd just have to look at purchasing something somewhere else. The next day we got a call that our use year was available. Go figure.

My understanding is also that Disney will only do an add-on in the member's same use year, but that resales could be bought in a different use year. So you could ask your guide to put you on the wait list for HHI for a March use year.

I think it would be easier to manage all your points in the same use year. Once you have purchased them, the management of the points has nothing to do with whether some were from Disney and some were from resale. "Points is points." I think it would be tougher to manage two contracts with different use years. JMHO.

I've had two BWV add-ons come through via Disney's wait list. One took about 3 weeks and the other took about 8 months. So if you're thinking about trying the waiting list, I'd say go for it.

Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best! :D

We, too, have a Dec. use-year. After our guide told me HH was sold out for Dec. and offered VB instead, I started checking with resellers. I especially liked Shontell Crawford, who was checking on a 50-point contract someone else had listed, but it never panned out. In the end, we ended up adding on at VB(less than 6 months after adding on at HH), but I am still kicking myself for not purchasing enough points at HH to begin with when I had the chance to in February. Since WDW is 10 hours away, I doubt I will ever be inclined to go as far as VB, so I plan on using the points to stay at OKW most of the time.

Mouseclick1, we live in Ohio and it's 16 hrs. for us to WDW and 18 to VB. We own at HH, OKW, and VB. My suggestion is to make the extra trip just one time. You'll love VB! We just added on more pts. there because we like it so much. It's a beautiful and relaxing resort.
