Adding on through Disney question

I just closed on small resale and now I have to decide how to proceed with an add-on. I did the math, and it doesn't seem to make sense to do another small resale now that I can go through Disney.

Does anyone know the details of a 50-point add on as far as financing, etc? I may just wait until I have cash, just not sure I have that kind of patience!!! Don't want to take $ out of savings either, or HELOC, etc.

You may finance 50 or more points thru DVC directly. There may be a waitlist for some resorts, but SSR is immediately available for add-on - other resorts may also have immediate availability for some Use Years.

All direct add-ons will be in the same Use Year as your "master" contract. Add-ons may be made for as few as 25 points (cash only), but any number of points may be obtained as long as it's 25 or more. Disney financing is available for 50 points or more - usually with a 10% deposit.

I think the current DVC finance rate is at 9% for up to 10 years. It will be set up as an autodebit from a checking account. There is no pre-payment penalty if you choose to pay it off sooner.

While there are certainly other, less-costly finance options available (home equity loans, 2nd mortgages, etc.), the DVC rate is very competitive within the timeshare industry.

I would love to do a small add-on of 50 points. We have close to what we need now, but Disney makes it so easy to finance add-ons that it makes it very easy to say "why not?"

How long is the wait for a Disney add-on? We own all our points at BCV, so I don't need any more there. If the "Buy where you love" advice makes sense, I guess I would add OKW points. I am afraid by the time they found me the points, ANOTHER price increase would happen!

I am not sure, but I have heard that they may have quite a few OKW points in inventory, so you may be able to get them immediately...
