Adding on points?

What exactly are all the advantages of adding on points at different resorts??

The advantages are that you can add points from Disney when your home resort is sold out and that you get the home resort priority FOR THE NEW POINTS ONLY. The down side is potentially higher yearly fees and more points accounting.
