Booked for 6 nights in 2BR villa at SSR through friends’ DVC points. When they look, there is nothing available to book a 7th night which we’d love so we can add in a rest day.

My question, if I find an available 2BR rental at SSR for one night at the end of our trip, would we be able to stay in same room or would they make us check out and check in since it’s be a separate reservation?

Anyone done this haha

You could have your friend who rented you points call and see if they can note it in your account and again ask at check in, but there is no way to merge that situation into one or guarantee you won't have to move.

They won't be able to tell you until the night before the 2nd reservation, but they try their best to make it work so they don't have to clean the room twice. At least that was my experience at AKL.

That was my thought, no need to clean my room because I’m already in it! Now, the chances of finding the exact room (2BR preferred) 2 weeks out is pretty slim to none, but I’ll keep trying!

We have done this before and added a day before. You just have to make sure that it is the same size unit - and whether it is standard or preferred of your original reservation.

If you book the same exact size and unit, just let the front desk know when you check in and they will tell you to check out and check in the same day and you do not have to move units.

Yes!! This is exactly what I hoped to hear! Thank you!

doing this in March. We have 2 different contracts,,so when we book with one and add on with the other,,they have to do this,,,,it shows up as 2 seperate reservations,,,but they add notes to BOTH reservations linking them....because they are 2 different contracts they cant not link them.

Just to clarify, the contracts are in different memberships, correct?

Once can book using more than one contract and hafe them combined into a single reservation as long as both contracts are in the same membership.

I have two memberships and have done this often. You can't "merge" them, but they won't make you move. An owner can tell them in chat to put notes, and you can also tell them at check-in. They won't make you move, because they don't want to pay to clean an extra room.

It's possible they could make you move if you're in a room without a lot of inventory, but SSR will be fine.

I always call the front desk check out day and confirm.
